 My husband says it works but even though it is supposed to be cutting the hair when you twist the handle, hair gets caught between the razors and it pulls hair out of his nose. Luckily he isn't that hairy so he doesn't need it often but when he does it is like a medieval torture device. This is coming from a firefighting, tattooed beast of man and the only time he whines is when he has the dreaded "man cold," which everyone knows a "man cold" means he is close to death so be warned this nose trimmer can cause unbearable pain. A handheld torture device but removes hair as promised

 The way to use this properly is to make sure your hand is absolutely still while you are using the device. If you are rotating the barrel while you are moving it or withdrawing it, you'll have a hair or two snag on the cutter. This can be entirely avoided if you are careful about using this trimmer on a section at a time. The instructions could have pointed this out to save you some infrequent painful experiences but it omits this

The nose knows...

 Not only does it carry a lifetime warranty, but it's so sturdy and well-constructed that I can easily envision it lasting a lifetime. And there is the convenience of being able to do your major trimming without a battery operated device. For sure, it will *painlessly* remove your longest and most intrusive, unruly hairs in your ears & nose. It definitely does the job and works effectively

I've just received this product and have used it for 2 days, after ordering it with high hopes, and perhaps that's why I was a tad disappointed. After my 2nd Panasonic just died, I was intrigued when I found this battery-free, sturdy mechanical device, and the possible prospect of this being the last ear & nose hair trimmer I'd ever need to buy.  Here are the positives:  It's probably true that it's the last trimmer of this sort I will ever *need* to buy. Need being the operative word here

  Negative:  It's not the last trimmer I will ever *want* to buy, because while it does the job in terms of removing the major hairs, it simply does not cut close enough, and not as close as the Panasonic battery trimmers I've used. That's actually the only negative.  The positives far outweigh the single negative (lack of closeness), but for me, that's a big negative--I need closeness since I am not that hairy. I will happily keep this product forever, but I think I will also have to use a Panasonic battery device for those times when I really want to get a close cut

Great company; imperfect but decent product

 It would have been fun to watch it go round and round plus it would have caused me no physical pain. If you'd like to simulate the experience of owning one of these awesome trimmers just burn your nose hairs out with a red hot fireplace poker or shove a ball of duct tape up your nose (sticky side out, as if I have to tell you) and quickly rip it out or just use a weedeater. Any of those methods should produce superior results but with slightly less discomfort. My eyes are still watering

Owwwwwwww! Sweet baby Moses who designed this thing, the Marquis De Sade? The Romans? I was looking to replace my battery operated Chinese schnoz hair trimmer with a superior, well built American made trimmer but oh, what have I done? Sure the box says you'll save money by not buying batteries ever again but, other than possibly Bigfoot, who would really uses a nose hair trimmer enough to worry about battery costs? It is indeed a heavy, well made, stainless steel device but then many torture devices were works of art too. The box goes on to say that the device is "safe and gentle". I suppose that that is really all subjective as I'm sure you could find a human somewhere on the planet that enjoys having their nose hairs "safely and gently" ripped out by the roots. The lifetime warranty is probably a safe bet for the manufacturer since nobody would ever wear one of these out as most are probably only used for 3 seconds or less, cursed, then tossed in the back of the drawer with the hairy capless Chapsticks

WTH!!!! Who thought this was a good idea?

With so many glowing reviews on Amazon and other sites, I had to try this hair trimmer. At first, it lived up to the hype -- simple to use, smooth, no batteries needed.  After a few months, though, the inside piece started to catch on the outside piece. It got to the point where I could barely turn it

  So I emailed the company about two defective hair trimmers. Their response: "We manufacture the Platinum XL trimmer to a very tight tolerance in terms of the inner rotary blade and outer shaft and if there is just a slight variance this could cause the skip or binding that you are describing. We have actually just introduced a brand new Groom Mate trimmer that we are calling the Platinum XL Professional.

 i thought that maybe I had treated it poorly (dropped it or maybe I wasn't supposed to wash it with water), so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered another one.  I've only had it pull hairs a few times out of the many times I've used it. I've never been cut or pinched by the mechanism.  I clean it by rinsing with rubbing alcohol, then twisting the head under running water. The cut hairs come out easily, and it's ready for use again

I've been using this for a bit over a year now to occasionally trim moderate nose hair, and I'm satisfied. I use it only in the nose, as I don't have protruding ear hair. The construction is solid, it functions well, and is easy to clean.  Operation is simple: put it in your nose, gently move it around while twisting the bottom half

I was searching for a nose-hair trimmer not made in China and found this little stainless steel gem made in the USA. It is not battery-powered and will last forever. It is simple to use if you remember to twist the bottom part with your dominant hand and hold it with your other hand while moving it around your nostrils.
