 This front, compartment you've got a zipper with a flat pocket, be great for storing a map or anything you need to get to quickly. That'S not too large. You do have compression straps on this top and bottom two mesh pockets on the outside. You see one is great for holding a water bottle to tuck many other things in there

 Sternum strap some load lifters, as well as a nice adjustable hip belt. This is a comfortable light wrap with enough padding to be comfortable with up to 30 pounds in it for a day's worth of wear and you get some great hip belt pockets here for small items, the very top of the pack you've got a flat pocket here. It'S great for stuff and stuff need to get to quick. I'Ve got a little stove

 June 28 has a nice women's specific ergonomic harness here. You'Ve got your adjustable. Sternum strap some load lifters, as well as a nice adjustable hip belt. This is a comfortable light wrap with enough padding to be comfortable with up to 30 pounds in it for a day's worth of wear and you get some great hip belt pockets here for small items, the very top of the pack you've got a flat pocket here

My boyfriend and I are planning a 2-4 month trip to Central and South America (Costa Rica, Chile, Peru) at the start of next year. We're located in Europe, but I'm willing to hunt down backpack suitable for me. I'm short 161cm (5'2 or so) and quite small all around and I've yet to find a bag that doesn't hurt me. In June I did a 20-day hike with a hiking backpack from Decathlon that was supposed to be for women under 170cm, however the waist belt was doing virtually nothing so it ended up bruising my shoulders and upper back and causing me tond of pain daily. So now I'm looking for a bag around 40L that will hopefully fit me nicely, doesn't look too flashy, isn't pink, and will be good for traveling with planes and buses, walking in cities and some hiking too. I'll also bring a camera with 2 lenses, so if there's a camera compartment that'll be great, if not I'll look for designated cubes.

Sorry for all the explanations, any recommendations will be highly appreciated!

Recommendations for Women's Hiking Backpack for short people

 For a day hike this pack is massive. It would be great for carrying extra food and supplies for family and dog hikes. It's not really designed for backpacking, but I think I could rig it to work for a short backpacking trip in the future.

Well-Made, Easy Access to Gear

Hey, looking for a pack recommendation. Nearly 10 years ago I purchased a Camelbak Alpine Explorer and it has served me perfectly. Features that it has that I love:

\- side pockets that can each fit wide water bottles (32oz nalgenes)

\- separate bladder pocket with a strap for keeping the bladder upright

\- port through which a hydration bladder tube can exit the pack.

\- large main compartment

\- smaller compartment with mesh and zippered pockets for smaller items

\- small top pocket for glasses and other brittle items.

\- mesh front pocket that is also a sleeve (meaning I can put things into the sleeve without them falling out, as opposed to just a string that pins items to the bag but wouldn't necessarily keep them from falling out the bottom).

\- 25L - 30L of space (the alpine explorer is 27L)

I love this backpack but recently it has been falling apart beyond repair. The fabric has gotten thinner over time and hard use and has torn completely in multiple places, exposing the interior. So, I've been looking to replace it and wanted to get the exact same bag, but it turns out that this model no longer exists. At first I thought, "No big deal, I'll just find another bag that meets the same criteria." But, this has actually been kinda challenging. This bag sort of straddles the line between a hiking daypack and a daily use bag. For me this is perfect. But, most designs that I've found (osprey, camelbak, patagonia, etc.) have become more and more use-case oriented, rather than trying to bridge the gap between use cases. For instance, most daily use backpacks won't have hydration system features or mesh pockets in the front. Most hiking daypacks (that I've found) won't have a main compartment + a smaller compartment with additional organization pockets (separate from the bladder pocket).

After a bunch of searching I've settled on a Patagonia Chacabuco 30L. It very nearly meets all my critieria. Downsides: on the larger side of what I wanted, and the mesh pocket isn't nearly as much of a sleeve as I'd like. So, before pulling the trigger I figured I'd ask if anyone here knew of a pack that might meet my criteria more completely. Thanks!
