Hey, Gerber, fire the guy that designed the damn sheath! It would get 5 stars, if the sheath wasn't designed by some wannabe, ivy league grad student that barely has an engineering degree. I literally have to pay someone to make a sheath that WORKS!!!

The sheath is terrible

The blade itself is pretty well made and interesting.. It’s more of a niche use item, as I found it most useful for cleaving, chopping, and cutting bark off of small branches.

Good blade, crappy sheath (if you are left handed)...

Novelty or practical?

I picked this up for $26 on sale and at that price, it's a good value. The blade is very sharp and the blade is very thick relative to its length, which helps it power through thicker materials. It's not the greatest steel on the market, but the blade is easy to sharpen and maintain. This mini clever would be more useful if it were an inch or two longer, and had a slightly longer and less slippery handle

A little more blade length would help

 The sheath leaves something to be desired. The sheath is sturdy and keeps the knife contained nicely but, even with the mounting clip moved to a different location, it is difficult to put the blade back in or pull it out. So far the best carry I have found for it is to carry it on my side, normally like to ranger carry, and the sheath to be concidered upside down.

 For the price i don't regret buying it, but don't think i would again. On a positive note, the steel is pretty decent quality for chineese gerber. Mmmm cheese and sausage.

 The handle is far too small for serious cutting, and overall size and weight makes cleaving (they did call it a cleaver, right?) impossible. The sheath is cumbersome, latch gimicky and for right handers only, and the belt clip is held on by 1 screw. For the price i don't regret buying it, but don't think i would again. On a positive note, the steel is pretty decent quality for chineese gerber
