Also if it does get broken Gerber has a pretty good warrenty for their stuff and would probably fix/replace it. MP400 - I have the blacked finish version, (this is the smaller version of the MP400). Just as useful, but much lighter weight - this is a big deal - **everyone wants to ditch heavy stuff on hikes/ruck marches**. It's perfect to just throw in your pocket, without being obnoxious and feeling like you're carrying a brick.

The Gerbers are good too, but the Suspension doesn't seem that ergonomic. The MP600 is good for tougher jobs (I have one for work). The MP400 looks good for EDC - it has a similar toolset to the original Leatherman PST-II, which is great. I wouldn't take away any points for a MT blade being half serrated.

Strongly recommend upgrading the mp400 to a Leatherman oht. I do miss the scissors but the spring loaded pliers and onehanded opening of every tool are a massive improvement.

I've had a Gerber MP400 for almost 20 years and it's still in like-new condition. But I have a SOG multitool on my PC only because it has a molle pouch instead of belt-mounted. I love the one-handed opening of the Gerber, but I'd choose the Leatherman MUT for any hard use.

I bought the knife because i had lost my previous knife. It looked as what i had, once i received it was way smaller. It works but i am needing a bigger knife and bigger pliers.
