We weren't totally sure what to expect from a battery-powered floor fan like the Geek Aire 16" Rechargeable Outdoor, but we like it. In a sea of relatively simple fans, the added features the Geek Aire brings to the table take it up a notch. Once charged, this fan is slightly smaller than others, adding to its convenience. It is easy to move around with you wherever you go &mdash; even out onto the patio! Prominent indicator lights quickly and easily tell you how much battery life is left, and since the battery is removable, you can get more than one and swap them out for seamless use. Unique among contenders, speed is controlled by a completely variable knob with no marked settings, allowing you to choose exactly the amount of airflow you desire. Not enough? It also has a USB charging port to keep your devices juiced up.
However, even on its highest setting, this 21-inch wide fan isn't nearly as powerful as we expected it to be. It is pleasantly quiet, but we're glad it doesn't have a limiting power cord, as you need to be right next to this fan to feel its cooling breeze. It's also by far the most expensive fan we tested, requiring a pretty serious financial commitment. Yet, for the tech-lover in your life, this feature-filled fan may be a dream come true.

  I ordered this for the farmers markets we attend in Louisiana, which are so hot and humid. Some of the markets have power readily available while others do not. Before we order the Geek Aire we tried using a lawn mower battery, converter and power cord for an electric fan; the battery did not have enough juice to hold up.  I Googled best battery powered fan for camping and Geek Aire showed up in almost every article I read

 However the built in battery died after only a few usages and there is no way it seems to get a replacement unless you order one for close to $80 from China, which is almost half the cost of the whole fan. If you want a quiet and strong fan, this is for you, but do not expect the portability to last at all. --- Update August 08, 2022 After my update the company reached out to me and sent a new one which works great again.

 You can feel it from 5 feet away in medium. The smaller ones need to sit on top of you. They're all fairly solid, quite, and last for hours, but this one let's you move around and you still stay cool. It doesn't seem to last as long, but given it's moving multiple times the air and it's very noticeable no one will mind

Battery dead less than 1 year!!!

  Once, it came in use for an elderly and handicap person, who was trying to keep cool at a Louisiana baby shower held outdoors. I couldn't watch her in un-comfort, so I let her borrow the fan, and she was so grateful. The battery lasted for the entire baby shower. Thats including before and during

  I have always been more than happy to have it! - That's actually quite an understatement!!  Noise? Please refer to the video for your own judgement. Please be sure to have your volume on. I would say it depends on if fan noise bothers you, or if you need quiet for a particular reason.

 High setting gives about an hours worth of use, HOWEVER, high setting is very high, and I can't think of many uses for such power.  I use my fan on about 1/3 speed and it lasts 3-4 hours, keeping me cool, and the bugs away, which is wonderful!  Takes just under an hour to get a full charge. Another plus.  I live in Louisiana, in a very hot and humid climate

 But if you have the ability to put the fan really close to you then even the lower power levels will be effective on very hot days.  I also started using the fan while working from my house during the pandemic. My work area would get hot regularly and the fan on low chilled me plenty and was nice and quiet with very little vibration. I use it plugged in a lot as well

 Another thing that comes in handy is how quickly it charges from 0% to 100%...maybe a couple of hours

 The more power, the less battery time you get (higher power range will give you only 2-3 hours, medium power can last a full night). But when you use it on a lower power it is still a good output and the battery will last a full day (maybe 16-20 hours or so). That said, a lot depends on the placement of the fan. On a really hot day, you may need to put the fan a lot closer to you for the effect

  I go camping and I also like to lounge in my backyard on hot days so I bought a fan that would be portable. I was instantly attracted to the quiet sound this fan made while being able to be legitimately powerful. It might not give you the highest power I've ever seen from an electric fan that is large and in charge but for a wireless fan, this did what I hoped for. I love the speed control knob that let's me fine tune how much power I want to give
