 Sometimes, I can turn off the breaker for a minute or two, and the stove will work. Sometimes I get error code FA92. Thank goodness I purchased an extended warranty, because the repair folks have replaced the big "motherboard" that makes the whole thing work twice, replaced the fan once, and the components for the big stove top unit is coming in a couple weeks. There was another repair for the panel under the touch panel

I purchased this GE profile induction stove early in 2016 From Sears appliances. It worked great for the first 18 months or so. Induction cooking is great--heat controlled, easy to clean, fast--I don't think I could go back to gas (using the smoke detector for a cooking timer) or regular electric (waiting for the unit to finally heat up, then cleaning all the unit pans from the boil-overs and grease splatters that inevitably happen). BUT, after the first 18 months, this stove has been on about a 3-day work week--it cannot be depended upon to work on any given day or time

 It intermittently shuts itself off and refuses to work, then a day or two later will magically agree to come to work for no apparent reason whatsoever. Just try to invite friends to dinner and the stove will go on vacation. Christmas dinner was an adventure.  The circuit breaker for the stove has become my best friend

There's an electrical failure on the stove which shuts off power after about 5 seconds. Worst part, I bought an extended warranty through Federal Warranty Service Corporation which, through it's regional service, A&E Factory Service, has rescheduled service twice.  I finally experience my first boil over doing a celery root puree for salmon. This puree requires equal parts milk and water and I put the lid on without thinking first and of course boil over. I was panicked for a moment running to the other side of the kitchen to get paper towels and upon my return I was pleasantly surprised to find both the left and right edges of the of the stove top have a inclination right along the edge so fluids don't dribble down the sides of your stove! GREAT!!! THANK YOU GE!!  Boils water almost as fast as my microwave within 30 seconds or so with 1 cup of water in/on each. In fact I make my own stocks, beef and chicken

  Instant heat, like a gas burner only without the danger or hot spots in pans, you don't have to stir or move food around as much when doing a saute.  Easy to clean, unlike our gas stove which would take 60 minutes at least and if you had a boil over even longer! We cook right on those Silpat's they are silicone baking pats for small personal pizza's and work great for keeping the induction element area's clean, unscratched and the bottom of your pans like new.  UI - User Interface intuitive and easy, didn't even need to pull out the manual to set the clock!  1 Con - GE put a warming spot in the back center that uses a standard heat element i.e

 resistive element not inductive bad idea, if you have a paper towel or something else down to keep the glass nice and clean around the inductive elements then it could melt or catch fire. So we don't use it ever, if it were inductive we would use it and love it.  We will never go back to resistive or gas range again!

 There is NO better way than with an induction cook top, reason? Simple, the induction cook top puts out as electric field that not only encompasses the entire bottom of the pans and beyond, but partially up the sides,(a few inches), of the pan as well. 30 Qt boiled fast because of the XTRA heated surface area that induction brings to the game. Get an extended warranty or buy another brand.

  Here are the Pros for this range: --Easy to clean top. Because it doesn't get nearly as hot as a radiant glass-top range, all that scraping and scrubbing is gone! Ten times easier to clean than any other range we've owned. --Stylish, modern design. It's a beautiful appliance

 Not a big issue, but an inconvenience. --The oven light stays on forever. I much prefer a time-out on the light after an adjustable time so you don't find the light on the next morning. --The "soft close" drawer under the oven required some adjustment when we got the range, and it only works when the drawer is within an inch of closing

5 minutes. The fastest times were pricey, quality stainless-clad pans and the slowest were light, inexpensive pans from that Swedish household goods superstore. They work, but just are not as efficient or responsive. I'm assuming that it has to do with the amount of iron or steel in the bottom of the pan

 Per GE's written installation instructions and most kitchens), the stove won't slide in all the way. In my case (brand new kitchen, opening made based on GE's instructions), there is a 3" gap between the back of the stove and the edge of the countertop - pushing it back farther would have damaged the cabinets and (likely) the stove, not to mention I'd never be able to get it out again.  The Lowes and Best Buy associates I worked with on this have informed me that the will no longer recommend this product based on this information.  After a month of "back and forth" with GE customer service (my experience was better than some other reviews on here), they are buying back my stove because they cannot guarantee the a third replacement stove won't have the same defect

 This may not seem like a big deal, but it means that if your stove opening is constructed to be exactly 30" (e.g. Per GE's written installation instructions and most kitchens), the stove won't slide in all the way.   The other features on the stove are OK (the touchscreen controls are a little hard to deal with - they only work about 80% of the time with my wife's fingertips and the oven is slower to preheat than other stoves I've had). One good thing is if you're OK with damaging your old cabinets to cram it in, GE does offer an up to $300 "fit guarantee" for your efforts (only applies when you're replacing a stove in an existing kitchen, not putting a new stove in a new kitchen)..

We have had this induction range for 4 months now,a nd it has exceeded all expectations. I have always used a gas range, but when we bought a house with a 25 year old electric, we had to replace it. I planned on gas again, but after doing some research, decided to go with the induction range. The GE PHS930 is a great buy

 I have seen people complain about noise when the burners are on, but that certainly is not the case with mine. The best thing is the cleanup is a breeze, because nothing burns onto the glass, and it is entirely smooth. We were warned by friends that the glass top will scratch, but that has not been the case at all. The only downside is that most of our pans did not work, but fortunately, they had a special where they included an entire set of Chantel pots and pans with the purchase, and they are very high quality

 It heats so much faster than gas, and doesn't heat up the kitchen. The multiple levels of power allow a pot to simmer very easily. The response when you change the heat level is immediate. The oven is solid with easily movable racks, and the convection oven makes for a very even heat throughout

Induction is the way to go.

Bought this oven at a local retailer 2 years ago. Design is awful. When you're cooking if your clothing happens to brush the panel which is right at belly height, the settings will change. happens at least a few times every time I cook and I don't have a big belly! If you have a pot on the stove and there is any splatter, if it hits the front panel again the settings change

 Oven also takes forever to heat up when it works. I don't recommend this range at all. If you must have it, buy the model with the knobs.
