 With this one unless pretty liquid the material sometimes forms a pocket in the center and the blade just spins with minimal contact. If I had it to do over I would not buy this appliance for this application. It may work fine for blending drinks or other liquids but for thicker things I say keep looking for something else

 I have fairly strong hands and need to use a towel to be able to remove the blender attachment. Half of the time it doesn't seat correctly and leaks. Remove and realign then it works as it should. Doesn't feel cross threaded so we can't figure out why it does this sometimes

Fourth Level of Blending Unsatisfctory

While it looks very nice and sleek it literally can’t blend without overheating and shutting off. So if you’re only making for one and there’s not much ice/frozen fruit etc then it’ll get the job done but overall not what I expected especially for the price.

I purchased this for making ice blended cocktails and smoothies... after 1 min at speed 5 and leveraging pulse feature intermittently it could not blend 1 cup of ice and liquid! Such a waste!

The smell doesn’t go away easily

 If that creates the consistency you are looking for, then make it a habit of not turning it up much past that. Doing so will help the unit to last longer. High speeds = high wear on ANY device.

 My wife has a PEG feeding tube so we have to puree all of her food. A staple (for gut health) is oatmeal, flaked barley (like oatmeal) & cottage cheese (among a BUNCH of other stuff). So, to blend it all we have to add those main components in stages - a little at a time. Otherwise the GE will bog down

 you weren't having good luck and got a "bad" one. If a high percentage of the 1 & 2 star reviews indicate those as being common failures, then the product is junk and look elsewhere. In contrast, this GE unit feels pretty solid - at least in comparison to others that we've had. I'm thinking this dovetails with the fact that (from what I can find) this is the only model of blender that GE makes

It Works...

  The two manual knobs could be a little more intuitive in their functions, but overall, I'm really, really pleased with this blender. I got mine used for $55, but for $75, this would be a great deal if options are limited and you want something simple without all the bells and whistles that some have. Makes quick work of nut milks, oats, and grassy stems and teas when you set it to 4 or 5. While not the fastest blender, it packs a lot of power behind those blades
