 So far, I found lots of limitation on this model such as, it took longer to locate satellites, and the biggest draw back is it is very hard to find a new address if your destination is out of state. Although my primary GPS is I-phone, I always like to have a Garmin back up during travelling far distance. This model has been a disappointment so the primary usage for it in my car is to use in the regular map mode so I can see the street while travelling which defeat the main reason why people would need a Garmin GPS. Noted that I had updated the map on this model but still has problems of locating out of state address

I have been a Garmin fan for many years. Matter of facts I must owned several version of the Garmin. I had to find a replacement for my last Garmin ( a little larger than this model) because the night mode was no longer working. I was pleased with this model and tried to find a comparable model because my last model is no longer available

 This new unit has a very nice suction cup that is keeping its tackiness and holding the unit onto the windshield tightly with no signs of coming loose. I have to admit, I was a huge fan of the sandbag mounts and used to use them exclusively. I don't know if they are still available, but they were, in my estimation, the best mounts I could buy. Some states don't (or at least didn't) allow windshield mounts due to a fear that a collision could hurl the GPS back into someone's face

 I can recommend this Garmin based on my use of it; however, your decision must be based on your preference if the brand you like is producing good units. I don't want to sway anyone into a purchase that might be regretted later on.

 I can install updated firmware if it becomes available and, of course, load any new maps that are available. You are free to tell this unit how to calculate a route: fastest time, shortest distance; you can even set up some custom avoidance areas for those times when conditions warrant it. The suction cup mount on this unit is an improvement over the one on my last Garmin, a nuvi 2599. That older suction cup lost its tackiness rather quickly and loses its grip on the winshield in less than a day on the highway

While the gas prices feature is nice in theory, it needs to be revamped to be limited to your upcoming route. It’s not useful as a radius. That price info should be listed in the same way as the Up Ahead screen.

Upgraded from a more basic Garmin unit, to get phone link capabilities and live traffic, as well as a larger screen for my aging eyes. Really happy with this unit overall. Big, bright screen with large font sizes. Works with polarized sunglasses

Great GPS unit

 Laughable battery life has been a staple with Garmin, and I don't think they will ever address this, if I'm being honest.  My advice: If you're fine with Google or Apple Maps and don't often find yourself driving in areas with bad phone reception, then I don't quite see the point in purchasing this Garmin unit. Stick with your phone. However, if you tend to travel a lot by road and don't always know if you'll have reliable service, and/or you feel uncomfortable switching between Google or Apple Maps with other phone applications while driving, then I think this is more than worth the money and you can't go wrong with buying this unit

 Even if your phone service stops working, this unit won't, and I personally appreciate the peace of mind that gives me.

 Unless you're using it for a very brief drive (and I do mean VERY brief), don't think for even a second that you'll be using this device unplugged. If you don't have a working cigarette lighter port/auxiliary power outlet in your vehicle, don't buy this.
