 In terms of a profile here, it's pretty much an on trail ski, so not a ton of rocker going on, nice positive camber underfoot and just a bit, just mostly to get you into the turn and out of the turn, doesn't really have much to do with soft snow, flotation or anything like that. But yeah, built for on trail carving, I mean this thing's just as smooth and stable and damp as it gets, pretty heavy too, doesn't really, it's not very agreeable to much other than going fast and railing turns. This is a 182 here and this thing generates an 18 meter turn radius, so that's pretty average for a ski like this, definitely that shorter GS turn, not quite what you would call like a beer league cheater ski but yeah, you could use this in a race course I guess. But really meant for just that all mountain carving, like I said, not true to that soft snow or anything like that due to the weight but the build of the ski is going to plow right through it

 Hi skiers, it's Bob with SkiEssentials.com.

 Today we got the Fischer RC1 GT86, 86 GT, I don't know, there's just a lot of different

 But this thing is unchanged for this year and that's a good thing.

 Just a super burly frontside carver with an added bonus to it that it just plows through

 So 86 underfoot, pretty wide for that frontside carving ski, so it's definitely splitting

 that difference between frontside and all-mountain.

 In terms of the construction, it's got a wood core and it's got the burly metal in it.

 So it's 0.8 millimeters of titanol in there and that is, you can see it underfoot here,

 that shiny part extends up to the tip and tail.

 Kind of the nice thing about it though is that it is not that full sheet, it does taper

 to the tips and in at the tail here you can kind of see the discoloration there.

 So that leaves you at least a little bit of wiggle room for a little bit of playfulness

 and versatility to it, if that metal was full width, full length, this would be a different

 But Fisher also does something interesting to take up that gap, they use a Bafotex material

 here which is kind of a high grade synthetic material that's used in like racing sails.

 Just an interesting use of different fibers and materials to keep the ski from being too

 soft in those zones but still keeping the weight down and pretty stiff.

 Just enough rocker to help you release from the turn. Again, if that was that full thick metal from end to end, side to side, tip to tail, this would be a lot more abusive of a tail. So as it is now, a little bit friendlier, more accessible, lets you release. But still that flat tail with the metal at the back, pretty business-like back there

 And then they line up the tip rocker pretty well with where that metal starts to taper in. So that gives you a little bit more of it that, you know, it compounds with that Bafotex material to make the ski easier to initiate without taking any power or strength away from the underfoot and midbody of the ski. Also, when you're getting up this wide, you know, it is nice to have that width and a little bit of that rocker for when the snow does get soft. You know, we're not going to be on firm icy snow 100% of the time with this ski

 It really does a good job of making it more accessible to a wider range of skiers without removing that top end of performance, which is what this thing is really all about. This is the 175. This one generates a 17 meter turn radius at 86 millimeters underfoot. They do have their triple radius in here, so there is a variable in terms of where you're putting pressure on the ski as to how it's going to turn

 Also, when you're getting up this wide, you know, it is nice to have that width and a little bit of that rocker for when the snow does get soft. You know, we're not going to be on firm icy snow 100% of the time with this ski. It does want to be in more of an all-mountain format from time to time. So that helps for sure

 Hey skiers, it's Bob with SkiEssentials.com, welcome to our 2022 ski test.

 We've got a Fischer RC1 86 GT for you today. One of the most stable and damp carvers we've

 seen come through here in a while, even at this width. So it is in that wide carving,

 wide frontside ski category, and while we would put some narrower skis in the all-mountain category,

 this one has the shape and construction to definitely leave it in frontside,

 but does have that all-mountain capability. So it definitely blurs the line. From a construction

 perspective, it's definitely more of that frontside build though. We got a wood core,

 two sheets of metal. We have the thicker metal, the 0.7 millimeter metal, so it does make this

 ski quite a bit heavier, more damp, and stable. They don't run that top sheet of thick metal all

 the way through, so they do taper it in in the tips and in the tails, leaving a central cord

 still intact. But the tips and tails do get the Bafotex material, which is found in high-end sails,

 so it does take a little bit of the weight and the power out of the very ends of the skis,

 which isn't a bad thing considering how hefty these things are. If they kept that thick metal
