So far, best single-serving tea AND coffee brewer

4/5 strains well, contributes no flavor, but more effort to clean that I'd like. I have gotten great use out of these, but I wouldn't buy them again.  Suggestions before review: • the medium is good for "deep" 8-ounce cups (not tiny, shallow ones) & smaller teapots • get the large for use in large teapots, latte glasses, and "french press" sized carafes. • return for a replacement if the one you get is not perfectly straight; dents make it much harder to clean  I've tried a variety of uses for both the medium & large versions of the basket

 I haven't found a small yet but definitely there is room for one. Haven't used either of these enough to know how they will hold up in time but I've got a drawer full of a variety of strainers and tea filters and things and all of them have one thing in common. They last.

I found the Large like a few others really large. And the medium will fit most of our mugs better. I wasn't looking to use these just for teas but also spice balls too. So larger is ok but not as useful as the medium

add a string or chain to the item so I can keep it from going to the bottom of the pot or mug or whatever I'm adding it to. Just 'Search' for Finum Travel Basket.

After trying fancier gadgets, this is now my most used tea item

 Read on to learn more:  We've had all sorts of single cup infusers over the years, all with small annoyances. Recently, I came across the Oxo and was initially very pleased, believing it to be the best single cup infuser I'd ever found. As tea infusers go, it’s stunningly beautiful, Museum of Modern Art worthy, and its solid metal weave is tight so no tea grounds find their way into the tea. The Oxo sits confidently on any sized cup, and most importantly keeps my fingers from getting burned

 Less of those pesky occasional drops to wipe around the cup area with the Finum.  I do not recommend the balls with chain, or the two piece spoon like infusers. Besides being a pain to clean, your tea leaves will not properly expand and taste will be affected.  Thus, although I’m a freak for great design, and a designer myself, function over form wins out this time
