 So it's super durable. It'S super tough. It'S definitely going to take a beating. It also has a nice CV, a foam handle right here, which is pretty small, and it's not that comfortable on the hand

 So all the parts on the inside are highly flexible and they're fiberglass, very lightweight, but very strong as well. The fabric is 100 % polyester, which is also Teflon coated and tear proof as well. So it's super durable. It'S super tough

 The lightest trekking umbrella that I've come across. I'Ve done some research, you know as a couple of companies out there making trekking umbrellas, and this one is apparently the lightest this thing comes in. That is what it says, is 7.4 ounces total

 I read that it was made of fiberglass so I thought it would also be quite durable. In fact, the little joints that connect the rods to the canopy are made of thin plastic and they break in any moderate wind. This umbrella is way less wind resistant than a $15 umbrella. It may still be the strongest umbrella in its weight class, so I may even need to buy it again for backpacking, however put it away in any wind of any kind! I wish someone would come along and design a better lightweight umbrella

 For the first time - and here we go whoo, okay, that is a very very nice umbrella. It feels super sturdy. There is no metal in this thing, which I love, because there's nothing like getting stuck up on a ridge line in a thunderstorm with metal, so I've opted to go with carbon-fiber, trekking poles a plastic umbrella. I want to limit the amount of metal on my body because I don't want to get struck by lightning that would really suck so the inside of this, like I said it's all plastic, the underside is black top is reflective silver it'll

I don't know if you can see this, but it looks like it's gon na withstand some pretty heavy winds, so the pack I use, I actually have an osprey EXO's 58 liter and it's got a nice nice pocket right here on the shoulder, strap.  In this position the end of the umbrella is about head high. With an overall length of 25 inches this is not a small package. But since the shaft is a single piece the assembly is more robust than a design made from telescoping tubes. The umbrella is also a bit on the heavy side but in exchange you get a durable mechanisim that should provide years of trouble free service

 This is enabled by the high position of the trusses that support the fabric. I use this umbrella in a rough environment both in terms of hazard for the umbrella and in the weather I encounter. I find the umbrella to be a much better product than what I have used previously (many) and highly recommend it for the proper person and use. It is not light weight and it is not a small package, but if you can accept those conditions it is a very nice umbrella

 Otherwise use two hands, one on the end and one up the shaft by the umbrella and ALWAYS point into the wind. If the wind shift to rapidly then take the umbrella down to live another day. Mine also weighs less than 8 oz. This umbrella is an upgrade to clothing, rain or shine!! ( I also use it as a support on one end of my minimum tarp for sleeping, just stake down around it and it's a snug secure wall against the elements!!!)

I have used this umbrella for years for backpacking and it has served me well. I love the silver color as often out on a glacier I need a bit of shade! Also hiking up south facing side hills on a hot sunny day I have caught more than a few envious glances from other hiker. Of course it works well in rain, I hike in the rainy Olympic Mountains and the size is perfect for one hiker while at times manuvering through a narrow trail. Great in the wind as well

This Umbrella does Everything!!

 It didn’t flip during wind and rain storms, so it has proven itself sturdy. It is longer than collapsible umbrellas so it doesn’t fit inside backpacks. But I used the carry case to strap it to the outside of my pack when not being used. See photos from my trek on the Camino Inglés

 I also used my shoulder strap loops to tighten it down across my chest so it wouldn’t sway. This was a breakthrough in Camino comfort! Most important, I could use both hands for trekking poles and focus on the hike instead of the weather. It didn’t flip during wind and rain storms, so it has proven itself sturdy. It is longer than collapsible umbrellas so it doesn’t fit inside backpacks

I have trekked with this umbrella in India, Nepal, Borneo and the Pyrenees. Sadly I lost my original in a taxi in Borneo. I have replaced it as they are invaluable: light, strong, a good size, excellent for the sun or the rain. The carry case makes it easy to sling over your shoulder and forget until the rain or the shade less sun comes along

Fantastic trekking / travel item

Great trekking umbrella, Lightweight, sturdy yet slightly flexible. Keeps me dry without having to struggle putting on rain gear, when there's a shower with a rucksack on my back. It's one of those things you just don't think you need, get one and don't know how you lived without.
