 That/\s/is the big thing you get person detection with/\s/ this video doorbell for free which if you have/\s/a video doorbell is really what you want it for/\s/ because you want to know if somebody's around/\s/looking at your stuff you saw in the app that/\s/ you can set up a zone to detect within and and/\s/that is very helpful and I am glad that Eufy/\s/ offers that particular functionality free of/\s/charge even if other companies offer it cheaply/\s/ that Eufy offers it for free over in the corner/\s/there I will link to the actual raw video files/\s/ so that you can see what the 2k resolution looks/\s/like video footage, not terrible. There was a little/\s/ artifacting with the night vision. Most of the/\s/time it was triggering when I was fairly close/\s/ to the camera itself. That's because it uses that/\s/pir sensor which is a heap based sensor

 Audio quality is good, but if/\s/ both parties are did you say something I/\s/can't hear, did you? It takes away from this not/\s/ entirely bad but just a data point to know that/\s/if you're going to use something like this, you're/\s/ going to have that delay and partially it is due/\s/because this is not a wired device and it has to/\s/ talk to your base station and send communication/\s/that way. I appreciate that and will only be/\s/visible if the button is pressed or it triggers/\s/ a motion event and then it doesn't spin around/\s/it's just a solid blue but if you choose to look/\s/ through this camera to view what's outside, you're/\s/not going to have that light light up which I like/\s/ because it's kind of like a stealthy doorbell/\s/camera Even though it does say eufy security on/\s/ the front we're going to tilt this slightly so/\s/that you can see on the bottom here. this is our/\s/ speaker

Eufy 2K Battery Doorbell in depth Review

This Eufy Video Doorbell Dual, which costs $260, including the required Homebase 2 (a standalone version will also be available if you already have a hub), is not the first to attempt this type of two-camera solution. The Kuna Maximus Answer also does double duty. However, that’s a hardwired doorbell; Eufy’s version is the first battery-powered buzzer to try this trick (Eufy says a hardwired version is also in the works). Its downward-facing 1080p camera has a 120-degree field of view, while the 2K camera can see as wide as 160 degrees

 it is mostly recording at 10 frames per second. So let's say this is because of my internet connection. So I'll show you again the footage from this camera and compare it to the Nest Hello which was recorded an hour or so before I uninstalled it to hook up the you feed video doorbell. So which one has better video quality? Anyways, this is one thing that can be fixed via firmware and please don't blame my Internet

 I Like the thumbnail notification which zooms in the person's face, the AI and motion detection is spot-on during my testing as long as you set the sensitivity to the middle setting. If we go more than that, you will get false notifications. Doorbell pushes resource to almost instant notification to your phone. Two-way audio works pretty good, but here are the cons

 it has a 160 degree diagonal field of view, noise cancellation and can only be connected to a 2.4 gigahertz. Wi-Fi You will need an existing doorbell which needs to have a 16 to 24 volt AC transformer and needs at least 2 megabits per second upload speed which is the same as most Wi-Fi security cam requires. The Euphy doorbell also is Ip65 rated and has an operating temperature of negative 4 degrees to 122 degrees Fahrenheit It also has a three second pre buffer which will start recording three seconds before it senses motion so that you will get the whole footage and not miss anything

Eufy Video Doorbell 2K Review - Unboxing, Features, Setup, Installation, Footage

 I was so annoyed there was no save as image button for Nest Hello. Yes, there was retroactive recording of videos but why can't I just see something interesting and press record right now? At first liked the fact that I could go back 5 days and review any footage, but then I realized I pretty much only review like up to 5% of the videos that gets stored. Which is essentially just the motion footages.  5

 No headlights.  3. Easy installation. Installation is almost identical to Nest Hello, with the exception that you simply short the chime wires to provide power instead of having that chime adapter

 If this has external PIR sensor trigger support that would be the best. For a product that's similar to Nest Hello, I would still recommend it over the Nest Hello if you don't want the subscription fees. I also wish there was some form of ML training so if a false positive shows up (in my case it keeps seeing my neighbors roof as a person) you could tell it that it's not a person but that may be expecting a little too much for a cheaper alternative to Nest doorbell.  Original: I owned a Nest Hello and had the $50/yr subscription

 I really wanted to like this product. But it's just not cutting it. They can salvage the situation by releasing an external motion sensor that can trigger the camera to start recording as currently I have Wyze camera + motion sensor additional to the doorbell just for the purpose of capturing motion at the front door when this fails to capture motion. The wyze set up has been much more reliable capturing every motion I wanted whereas the doorbell has only alerted motion on cars across the street but then occasionally miss actual people standing 2-5 ft away from the doorbell

 You can probably get six months, but if you're getting a high traffic area, no, you're not going to get that. So those are the big concern areas. How long does a battery life last? Is it actually good for talking to people? Does it notify you? Is it easy to access? Yes it is. And the doorbell is nice and loud and then the alternative? You can connect to your pre-existing wiring if you have that already

 It gets triggered a lot. So if you have a really high traffic area front door, you may not necessarily get 180 days of battery life. So I find myself having to recharge it a lot more frequently than I thought it was going to. probably about the two month mark I kind of got to recharge it and the first time, like the first full charging cycle, it seemed like it lasted a lot longer and it seems like now I'm basically having to recharge it like every six to eight weeks

 Like, by the time I recharge it, it's like I feel like I just charged it not too long ago and I don't know if that's just because it just gets you know, activated all the time or if it's a combination of just maybe the battery is not the most amazing in the world. So I will caution you in that I can't compare it to a ring. I don't have a ring doorbell. This is the only one that I've ever used, but I've been using Ufe Security products for a long time

 I also had to set up a red exclusion zone (strangely you only get one of these and you can’t expand it very much other than the small box shown in the pics) to ignore a light and small shrub that alerts as human at night.  Eufy admits these are know issues and they are trying to correct these in firmware. Your mileage may vary in your setup, as I believe that if your property possesses and lines up all the right elements, ie location, lighting, traffic, terrain, etc. it may work better than my experience,,,or not

 Unfortunately for me, the only way I could get this thing to “work” was to put it in full all motion detection mode and establish a zone which just covers my front yard and walkway. Now it will only provide a head and shoulders snapshot if the person lingers long enough in front of the doorbell or presses the button. Other than that, now it will alert and capture video so far as intended in that mode, most of the time. The caveat however, being it will also most likely capture chipmunks, birds in the grass or the occasional stray Wendy’s wrapper being in dumb mode

 Your mileage may vary in your setup, as I believe that if your property possesses and lines up all the right elements, ie location, lighting, traffic, terrain, etc. it may work better than my experience,,,or not. That’s a risk you take. If your heart is set on human detection smart doorbell tech, don’t get your hopes up with these folks at the moment

no real troubleshooting.  I replied to point out that the setup was done correctly for me to receive motion detection and in fact, I was receiving them when it was just installed. I also told them that since my first email to them the motion detection started up again but was sporadic. Someone could come up right to the doorbell and there is no notification at all or video capture and without changing anything, the same situation happens and a notification is sent and there’s video capture

Motion Detection buggy but...

 These features are both kind of neat, but also kind of "who cares".  Integration with existing home wiring: Not a big deal, but I think Ring has a slight edge here. My house came with two doorbell chimes (one upstairs and one downstairs) and Ring would ring both chimes. With Eufy, you get a chime that plugs into the wall; it does not ring the prewired chimes in your house

 Reading Ring reviews, seems like they're just more fragile.  So overall, both Ring and Eufy are nice to have, but I actually think the Eufy looks better and works better. If you don't mind paying the annual fee to Ring, it's fine too and you do get something for your money, I suppose. But after a few years of paying for the Ring cloud service, you could've just bought the Eufy and been done with it

  Installation process: My Ring was actually a replacement for one that was DOA, and I spent a lot of time on the phone with Ring trying to troubleshoot that first DOA one before determining it was just a bad unit. Installation of the replacement Ring was without too much hassle, but I'd say that installing the Eufy was very straightforward. I'd give the edge to the Eufy. My only real complaint is there are probably lots of people that dump their Ring doorbells for Eufy, and it would've been appreciated if the Eufy mounting plate had the same hole spacing as Ring

Overall, pretty happy with this Eufy 2K wired doorbell. This is the second Eufy wired doorbell that I've installed (one for my father and one for me), and this particular Eufy replaced a Ring Doorbell Pro - so most of my review compares the Eufy to the Ring.  Installation process: My Ring was actually a replacement for one that was DOA, and I spent a lot of time on the phone with Ring trying to troubleshoot that first DOA one before determining it was just a bad unit. Could've been 5 stars. Comparison to Ring Doorbell Pro.

 I know it's possible because my other motion sensing cameras do. One thing I didn't think about when I got this, is I like the fact that the wired version I have will go back like 3 seconds once motion see is trigger. My other cameras only show my mailman when hia hand is in mailbox, but the eufy goes back so I can see him walk up. I guess the way this works is since the wired version always has power the camera is always recording and then deleting those files in a few seconds if no motion or doorbell press is triggered

 The main reason must people probably buy this is to see who's ringing there door bell and be able to communicate with the person on the other end. But every single time I try and push the doorbell, when I get the alert on my phone and go to open the alert through the notification Pop up it try to connect to the camera and then fails. I get the unable to connect to the doorbell error. So this leaves me shooting through the door like my old doorbell

 For those that wonder if i have messed with the settings i have, i set the detection zone and tried all the different motion detection settings and they all suck. I have it mounted at my front door and i also have a cheap motion security camera that actually works, so i have been able to watch when my mail man comes by i get an alert from my other motion camera but unfortunately this doorbell doesn't detect the mail man at all. When someone comes up a rings the doorbell i get zero notifications, and if it does its like 20mins later. Basically this is now just a doorbell camera that has zero motion detection and there is a huge delay if you're lucky to get a notification

 It's not getting everyone of the motions that are happening in my front yard but it's better than when I first set it up. Still wish the alerts would come faster. My other motion camera sensors send me Notification to my phone and apple watch within about 2 seconds of the triggered motion.  Also anytime someone rings the doorbell and I go to open the alert it starts to load the live feed but crashes and gives an error message

I'll start with the bottom line: I like it, I'm glad I upgraded the dumb button to it, and I'm patiently hoping they will improve functionality. Like some other reviewers have mentioned, installation is not seamless! I'm an engineer and very hands on technically, and I really battled to get the chime to work with the doorbell unit. Tried about a dozen times in all, trying everything I could think of (changing power outlets, even using a cord to try to pair it 2 feet from the doorbell; changing WiFi routers, etc.)

 But after discussing my problems a few times they were very gracious in sending me a 2nd chime for my trouble, which is now upstairs and we hear the doorbell much better!  Funny, as I was writing here I realized I had not received an alert in weeks and tuned out...it seems when your phone reboots, updates, or perhaps the app updates (not sure which), it silently doesn't work until you run and log back into the app

 Sort of. The software is still very immature, and the following issues drive me crazy: - While I love my phone dinging an alert whenever someone is at the door, I don't love that 95% of that noise is either my wife or I coming and going from the house, getting mail, etc. This is basically SPAM, so there are so many useless notifications and videos, we are not likely to notice an actual intruder. The system is not very useful until they find a way for us to not trigger the system ourselves

 Tried about a dozen times in all, trying everything I could think of (changing power outlets, even using a cord to try to pair it 2 feet from the doorbell; changing WiFi routers, etc.). Inexplicably on the 12th try it just worked, and has worked for a few weeks now. As others mentioned, I almost sent it back at this point, most people would give up at this point
