 Time to open up the box. We have the window sticker, we have a quick start guide, and we have a mounting template. We have the indoor chime which has two antennas to communicate with your wifi and also with a video doorbell. We have the speaker on the front, a status light, and the eufy branding

 Now they made this kit mostly for being at a cheaper price point as compared to their 2K battery video doorbell. And also having a local storage that is in the chime and is inside the house. So it is more secure even if the doorbell is stolen or vandalized, you will still have the footage. Unlike their wired doorbell, which has the internal memory on the doorbell itself

 I didn't have any false notifications during testing but I only set human detection and it starts to record pretty quick and just enough time that the person is in the frame of the camera. Now for the two-way talk, this doorbell like their other video doorbells doesn't record the phone side of the conversation, just the doorbell side. I made a comment about this on my other reviews of their doorbells and I really wish that it can record both sides of the conversation. And I also didn't like that Eufy didn't include the thermal screws at the back of the doorbell so that you can hardwire this doorbell to your existing doorbell wires

 So I said earlier this camera doesn't record in 1080p but in 1600 by 1200 pixel resolution or UXGA quality because it has a 4 by 3 aspect ratio which will show the vertical part more as compared to the traditional 16 by 9. And this is a better aspect ratio for video doorbells because you want to see more of the ground area near your door when somebody drafts off a package and also see the head and face of the person better when they are close to the doorbell. It is IP65 waterproof, 120 day battery life, it has military grade encryption on the footage and the recorded footage is stored locally in a micro SD card inserted in the chime which is inside your house. It has an on-device AI human detection which will minimize false motion alerts

 I have to say, the short week owning my Echo Flex has been a revelatory, and has really opened up my eyes to how lacking Google and it's closed ecosystem is! Excited by the things I'm now able to accomplish with only a $10 Echo Flex (that plugs directly into a wall outlet) and the existing gear I already own (like making the Echo I just bought play a message/chime whenever a Wyze Contact Sensor is opened/closed) I started looking for an open video doorbell that integrates with both my Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa home setups, that also allows users to create routines... This is a servere oversight on Eufy's part, and totally unacceptable from a device that costs over 4X more than Wyze's own $30 video doorbell offering which I know can do the same (too bad it lacks a battery and is currently unavailable for purchase from Wyze's website as of writing this)

 As I mentioned to their CS rep, while the PIR sensor helps me kind of do what it is that I want to do with the video doorbell (in a band-aid fix kind of way), it does not substitute the fidelity that inbuilt AI powered people detection would help avoid (ala false positive alarm triggers, like my porch's sun shade has triggered on a breezy night). Beyond that, I still really need/desire the ability to use this doorbell's promoted AI powered detection to trigger automations that use other manufacturer's devices I already own via hub devices (ie: Amazon's Echo and Google Home) and routines for this doorbell to fully meet my needs.  Also, as I explained to the CS, the reason I need the alarm to play at night TBW is to scare away potential burglars or thieves, unfortunately ATM the only thing it'll currently does is wake up my sleeping newborn (as they only play via the indoor mounted chime).

WAY OVERPRICED considering what's advertised vs the reality of what you get...

 I would say expect to see two to three months of battery activity. It depends on how many motion detections it gets and how many recordings it does. If you're in an area where you don't get very much activity at your door, then it may last up to four months. There are no monthly fees, and it is battery-powered

 The white just has a white outline on the outside, and then the inside casing is all black still, but it does have, it's white, different color. So like I said, I will link the products in the description below so you can check them out, along with links to my other Eufy videos from my other security cameras I've reviewed for them, as well as linking you for SD cards that I've recommended before in the past.  You have motion settings, which this is where you can set up the sensitivity and activity zones, turn on and off detection mode. You can do human only or all motion detection, and then you can also enable human only at night, which is kind of nice. So then you have audio settings. You can turn on audio and remove audio, and then you got the volumes there as well

 So you can reach the settings of the doorbell chime as well as the video doorbell separately. But you'll see a little error message there. It's supposed to be an SD card. I don't have an SD card in there right now, so just let me know that there's no SD card in there

 Set up was not as seamless as I would've liked. Plugging in the chime took me a minute to figure out why I wasn't getting any indicator light. Well I had to completely turn the adapter until it clicked and was parallel  When it came to the doorbell that's when I ran into the most issues. It took me forever to find the QR code it mentioned, (its on the back of the actual doorbell blending in)the one on the box was for the chime

 It took 3 tries to sync to the chime though I was like 2 feet away.  After that I did multiple tests to see it in action. Motion detection, even with sensitivity high and "all motion" on took around 10+ seconds to alert me. [Initially I had it sitting in a window, maybe that was the issue, because I didn't have the drill bits I needed for installation] After removing and re-syncing the doorbell, the issue continued

 Well I had to completely turn the adapter until it clicked and was parallel  When it came to the doorbell that's when I ran into the most issues.   Finally I was able to drill holes and attach doorbell to the wall and since then it has been fine. The motion detection is on factory settings and has been working great.  Oh and I should mention that after charging it fully and then messing around with it in the house and pressing the button several times I found that the battery had dropped to the 70s. But after recharging its been fine now-about 2 or 3 days

Set up not always straightforward

 So I have two Wyze outdoor cameras, right? And one is in the back, one is in the front, and I pay for the Wyze's Cam Plus service because I wanted the person detection feature. Now that's already built into the Eufy doorbell and it's worked quite well so far. Now there are other features that are built in to this doorbell that are only available in the Wyze camera with their subscription service. I get it though, these cameras from Wyze are cheaper, they have very low margins

 Now the prices are pretty competitive and comparable to other services as well. Now you may want cloud storage just in case something happens with your local copy at your house, such as someone stealing it or something getting damaged in your house. The thing I really like and what they feature, especially on the box here says free, no monthly fee. That's what it says on this little badge right here

 Well, they just had to wait a little bit longer outside before they came in. Well, I've been wanting to get a doorbell for a while, a video doorbell and with the last Prime Day that came up, I took the opportunity. Now, this is not the one I bought on Prime Day. I actually bought a blink video doorbell and I had high hopes for it

 We'll see how the battery life holds up over time. One thing I forgot to mention that with this doorbell, if you already have wiring, you're replacing your old doorbell, you can definitely use the existing wiring to power these doorbells.
