Look into epson ef12. I have it. I love it. It’s small. Has android and really good speakers. Can be used as a stand alone Bluetooth speaker. It’s laser. It does not run on battery though.

Its been 6+ months with this and I am very happy with my purchase so far. Pros: Small, lightweight,easy to hookup in ceiling Great picture quality. My wife and I bought the Epson EpiqVision Mini EF12, it ticks a lot of boxes for what you're looking for and is honestly pretty amazing for such a small form factor protable unit, but it has it's compromises too. Definitly worth a look and priced just a little over you're $700 ask but still under 1k. For a casual viewer that mainly wants to stream stuff, the experience is amazing!
