Epson EcoTank ET-8500

If you do buy your own printer I heavily recommend a Epson p6/700 or a Ecotank 8500/ 8550. For professional work they are comparatively budget freindly - the p series uses 12 cartigrides of pigment ink if archival quality and being qualified as fine art is something that you are seeking while the 8k series uses 6 tanks of dye based ink that will last around 50 years or so.

Epson Ecotank ET-8500 is the only tank printer which officially supports paper up to 1.3 mm thickness.

This product was compared to other products and media was listed as 13x19. This is not correct. Do not buy if you are looking for a large format printer. However, it is a great printer in every other way. I contacted seller and received a rapid response.

I just happened to buy a Epson ecotank 8500 - I really wanted the 8850 like you but I'm happy with the compromise- I found mine open box never filled on Facebook marketplace for 450$ maybe you'll get lucky in your area? The best comparison is the p6/700 series.

You're going to need something designed for photo printing to get good results with heavy cardstock. If you can afford it, consider the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8500. The inks are fairly expensive as far as CISS printers are concerned, but it's still a lot cheaper than cartridge-based photo printers and the print quality is going to be a noticeable step up from an ordinary inkjet.
