Encore EX 6.0 Thick Core

My current paddle is Engage Encore 6.0 (16mm core thickness). Found it too top heavy and fixed it with a lead around the tip of the handle. I happily played with it for a year. But the heavy wind lately (when it's blowing against me) makes me want to have an alternative power paddle.

My recommendation: can't go wrong with an Engage Encore 6.0, EX or MX.

So I played with the Gearbox GX5 for a year and tired several other paddles to help me with top spin and third shots. I tried so many out there and let me tell you that this paddle gave me the feel that I was looking for. It felt like I had more contact with the ball. Very responsive. I can now tops...

But the EX 6.0 was noticeably better for damping shock and vibrations. I suspect it's related to the core material and core thickness Engage uses. The Rogue 2 had low shock/vibe when the ball was struck in a portion of the face (and the ball would really pop in that area!).

This paddle was gifted to me and it is amazing. It is very lightweight, has a ton of control, and overall is a solid pick if you are looking for a new paddle. Highly recommend.

I've owned an Engage Encore, Engage Pursuit EX, CRBN2, and Joola Hyperion CFS, and so far my favorite is the Joola Hyperion CFS. I'm able to get more spin, more power, and more consistency with the Joola.

Powerful with a textured surface allowing me to put topspin much like tennis or pin pong. Good weight. I got the oversized handle and love it. I’d buy it again.
