Foot last is 108mm, boots of all sizes have been murder on my little piggies, even with 50 days in one season. Anyone have a recc for a wide touring boot? Salomon is preferred as I “know a dude” there, but at this point I’m ready to spend the cheddar to keep my feet happy. 28/28.5 mondo, 108 width.

Hey y’all, avid skier who splits their time in the resort and the backcountry. I’ve got a setup for both. But I recently traveled with both setups for the first time and carrying two pairs of boots was cumbersome. 

The boots need to be burly enough for hard charging at the resort. But also come with a pin toe. I’ve been a big fan of atomic in the past.

I rock pivots on all my resort skis. So aren’t those somewhat compatible with both types of boot? Something something WTR, but it’s hard to find good info on that feature of the binding.

 9523 multi-norm sole, quick step insert toe, master step heel so you have that the most performance rigid connection to your inserts. We're putting a little bit bigger power strap on here, sits a little bit taller, supports the little bit stiffer fiber-loaded grillamid cuff and we're working with Cetus on a new liner program. Hi all, I am looking for recommendations for a backcountry setup for skiing the east coast. I am a solid intermediate skier looking to progress in trees inbounds and start venturing into the backcountry. I am a pretty avid MTB rider in the summer so I am no stranger to endurance sports. Due to the COVID lines at my local resort, I anticipate using my touring skis quite a bit, in addition to opening up new areas to explore around my local area. I currently ski 179mm k2 kung fujas that are excellent for blasting crud on groomers, but with the tighter trees and slower speeds it gets pretty unwieldly for my skill level. I am 5'9" and 155lbs and I am trying to decide on going for a dedicated touring setup vs a hybrid setup, and if so where could I min/max for either discipline. 

My goals in a ski would be that it is lighter and shorter, between 170 and 175cm, with a waist around 100mm. I am not too interested in sending big drops or doing any tricks in the back county, or in the resort. I would ideally like to have one ski boot for both disciplines to save on some cash. For bindings, I normally have my DIN set to 6-7 for resort terrain so I would not need anything with a high release. My main priority for the AT binding system is that they are at least as safe as an alpine system.

Backcountry/Hybrid Setup for Beginner AT Skier

 Hey, how's it going? Ross with DeanaFit here with Backcountry Skiing Canada. We are talking about the Hoji Free collection. Hoji Free 130 came out this season and next year we're introducing the Hoji Free 110. The only visible difference between the two is that next year all the Hoji mechanisms will be a slight bit bigger, so it's going to be a little bit easier to grab onto and open up the mechanism
