Dual 1237 turntable

I think this is the second generation of the 1237 with the stamped platter. So again everything's in good shape it's been cleaned inside and out.

This table has a brand new platter belt and fully serviced and gone through by myself.

Dual 1237 Turntable Demonstration

The cabinet itself is excellent. Very clean. Inside's very clean

Purists will snicker at a changer, but this is a Dual 1219, arguably the best changer ever made, and in single-play mode holds its own with any modern turntable under $1,000. Just got it back from the restorer, who did a fantastic job. It looks, works and sounds great!

I have a 1237 and I love it so much I bought a second one so I would have replacement parts. I know purists are mortified at the thought of using a stacker, but letting 4 or 5 albums just play is amazing.

the elusive 'Forever' table!

I have a Dual 1237 with an Ortofon TM-10H and LP Gear Improved stylus for Ortofon TM-10H and a Technics SL-D2 with a Grado MC+ and a AT-130e with a LP Gear ATN125SLC. I plan to upgrade the TM-10H to LP gears version of the OM30. I use both of the Duals as stackers and routinely play up to 5 or 6 records at a time.

‘Dual’ Brand Turntables?

The Dual 1237 can be fitted with standard 5 gram weight cartridges. You can dabble with the high end (and high cost) Grado or Ortofon black cartridges. Both turntable are fully automatic (start and stop on switch with auto off and end of record). Turntable speed is very stable (measured by strobe light).

As for a fully automatic turntable I am going to give a shout out for a Dual. I have a Dual 1237 and I absolutely love it. I even use the stacker which will send chills up and down the spine of most on here. The tonearm is very well regarded.

Auto or manual?

I have a Dual 1237 and a Dual 1242, both with the stacker option, a Technics SL-D2 and A JVC L-F41 so I guess you know where I stand. The way I listen to music I couldnt do full manual. I dont have time to just sit and listen to music, so I have speakers and amps in nearly every room in the house so the music can be playing wherever I am. I would probably notice a difference if I was using headphones, but after college I dont want any part of that.

How to choose a new cartridge for Pioneer PL-115D?

I have a lot of used records and I have found that the micro line stylus really quiet a lot of surface noise. The shure is my main cart on a Dual 1237.
