An Introduction to Ampless Setups

I bought a DSM & Humboldt Simplifier as a bit of an experiment, I wanted a very clean Fender-style amp to use a base for pedals, as I'm doing more ambient/low gain stuff these days. I find it works very well within its limits, it probably doesn't sound as good as a proper Twin Reverb on the one hand or a Kemper on the other, but then it was a couple of hundred quid rather than 1500 or whatever.

Anyone using a Strymon Iridium or preamp pedal as a amp replacement and love it?

DSM Simplifier. Before that I was using a terrible ART pre-amp/ DI box.

Anything to get rid of the amps.

[GEAR] Suggestions for a practice amp for a college dorm room

I would pick up a DSM Simplifier or Strymon Iridium or Walrus AC(whatever the hell that stupid name is), and a decent pair of headphones.

Will be much more fun to feel like you’re playing at full volume.

Love the 500 series, but considering "downgrading" to the 200s for smaller footprint.

I almost went with the Iridium, but opted for DSM Simplifier because of the stereo fx loop. Really baffled why Strymon didn't put one in...

Iridium/ACS1 vs JC22/40 as bedroom pedal platform

If 1/4 watts are still too loud, Iridium/ACS is the way to go. May I suggest you also take a look at the DSM Humboldt Simplifier. It's fully analog and has an FX loop, so you can play with headphones without leaving your (stereo) effects unused. Lastly you could hook it up to an FRFR when the need arises.

Strymon Iridium users, guitarpedals comunity, please help!

I'm seconding the DSM & Humboldt Simplifier. I got one recently and the sounds I get out of it are exactly what I want. Even the sounds I don't use are top shelf. * It's low-draw on my power supply and works on a 100mA output.
