Darn tough socks. Everything you need out of hiking socks and they have a lifetime warranty if they ever get holes or anything happens to them.

These socks are shaped to a specific sized foot much more than other Darn Tough socks. Make sure you use the size chart when looking at these and you will not be disappointed.  During the winter, I almost exclusively wear darn tough boot socks, some of which I've worn for over 6 years with no signs of wear. Hi!  I do a lot of hiking and orienteering in Alaska.  Often it's wet, wool socks are a must. I use Costco's padded mid-calf wool socks 10 months of the year but find them warm in the summer. Which brands would tou recommend for quality?

Best ankle height wool socks

I initially purchased these for a winter trip abroad, needing something warm and comfortable but also something that wouldn't need frequent washing. They quickly became my favorite socks and I eventually ordered several additional pairs, along with a few other styles in the Darn Tough lineup. These socks are so good they have literally ruined me for cotton socks.  For travelers, especially one-bag travelers, packing fewer clothes and getting longer use out of them is super handy

 And because these socks are merino wool they can be worn many times before needing a wash, depending on your personal level of foot odor and sweating. And when they DO need a wash, they are super easy to clean in the hotel sink with soaps meant for merino wool (don't use harsh detergents!), and they dry in about 16 hours.  These socks are shockingly soft and well-cushioned. If you've never owned merino wool products before, fear not - this is not the scratchy, itchy, ragged wool of the past

Who makes a mid or heavier weight quarter wool hiking sock that decent? I bought the latest iteration of the REI sock but they seem thinner than my old ones that all got holes at the same time. Maybe my old ones were mid weight and they dont make them in the quarters anymore?

I'm generally pretty hard on socks and shoes, but these have held up well so far. Haven't had the holes and issues that others have had. Are they worth the money? Maybe. I think I'll only have a few pairs for long outings and use cheaper socks for work though
