So I just bought and received a Darkvoice 336se in hopes of getting a warmer sweet sounding signature for my headphones which are the hd800s. I've had the schiit jotunheim paired with my headphones for a while and while I love the sound and its my main driver, I was just curious how a tube set up would go with the 800s, since people have been saying that they go well with tube amps. After comparing both amps for a few days, I've come to the conclusion that I don't hear a difference at all. Maybe it's a placebo and my mind is making me believe that there is a slight bass boost with the Darkvoice but when I A/B test it, I can't tell the difference.

The Converter is well built and sturdy. I was disappointed, however, that for the price it did not come with a power supply but only a power cable. Just put in an order for the Darkvoice 336SE as my first tube amp!. I’ve been using a JDS Element II at my desk and JDS Atom stack for my PlayStation and over the last year went from HD58X to Sundara’s to, just this week, Focal Elex. Loving how these all sound with the JDS stacks but really wanted to try something different so picked up the Darkvoice after reading all the reviews just describing it as very fun to listen to and very different sounding.

Good headphones... but unfortunately the person I bought them for found them extremely uncomfortable so I think you need to either like this style of earbud without the cushion or it needs to fit your ear perfectly. It looks nice and fits in the lightning port, so that's obviously a plus..

Definitely go for tubes with the HD6XX. I've heard good things about the Darkvoice 336SE and the Bottlehead Crack.

I walk daily and catch up on phone calls during that time. I find that the traffic gets in the way of comfortable conversation. I thought these earphones would help. I was wrong. I heard static in one of the headsets and absolutely nothing in the other. I plan to return this purchase.
