DAKINE Slayer

Dakine slayer. They are protective, stay in place and breathe surprisingly well.

They also have a great warranty - the loops that keep the velcro strap in place broke on my first pair, and they sent me brand new ones at no cost.

They do the trick, are comfortable enough, and stay up. I typically climb with them around my ankles and pull them up for decent. As they’re a bit tight it’s annoying pulling them up over pants so I prefer to use them with shorts.

Was looking for some basic knee protection when riding higher risk XC trails. Saw a couple positive recommendations online so I gave these a whirl. Originally ordered a medium size per Dakine’s size chart, too small and the stitching was failing right out of the package. RETURNED! Ordered a size lar...

I found the knee pads to be very narrow. Would not come up past my calf, never mind going up to my knees. Also, the pad is very large which would make it uncomfortable for mountain biking where the knee needs to bend continuously.

I (thankfully) haven't had to test their impact protection, but these are comfortable, light, and fit well. I tried other pads that slipped or made it hard to pedal or became uncomfortable after a short time on the bike. With these, I hardly know they are there. I wouldn't recommend them for hardcor...

Great coverage, comfortable, confidence inspiring. Easy to forget that I'm wearing them while riding. After having tried on multiple sizes, i realized that getting the perfect size is important with these. Too small and they'll be too stiff, too large and they'll be too lose and will slide around.

It seems like it protects well ( I have yet to fall), but there crossed a point where I forgot I even had them on. That being said, these seem to do the job well. I returned my first pair though because the right knee pad had a small rub spot on the stitching. My second pair rocks.
