 Now the tricky thing with this monitor is that only the edge is actually flat the rest is pretty curved and that's because this is a curved monitor so I'll be trying to put this as close to the edge as I can to make sure that that's because this is a curved monitor. So I'll be trying to put this as close to the edge as I can as far as the mounting of the strip itself and I want to try to mount it so that it's as kind of equal as I can just eyeball it it doesn't have to be perfect just to ensure that that light can hit the back side of the wall. What I'll do is I'll actually connect the first strip that's connected to the controller to the second strip here and I'm just going to route this in try to route this in such a way that the strip can be as close to the outside edge as possible just because I do have a curved monitor. Now it's not that big of a deal because these are adjustable where you can slide these two for the magnets to here so it's not meaning to be absolutely perfect by any means so now we know where our controller is going to go

 The standard gaming modes are a lot better. I would say there's a little bit of extra brightness from the LEDs but it's still extraordinarily dim so let's look at you know right there that's kind of the brightest those LEDs get and let's turn on our Logitech G560s and just see how much brighter that actually is. So you know the G560s don't really respond well or quickly they're they're kind of delayed so Logitech has to do some work on their lighting system a little bit clearly whereas the Corsair is almost immediately responding which is nice but the Corsair LEDs are just really not all that bright. I think Corsair needs to go back to the drawing board with this particular product and put much brighter LEDs it's just not sufficient and to be honest their marketing is kind of a lie

 From testing today I can tell you that the ambient lighting is barely any lighting at all and you can't really even see the LEDs. I know that they're trying to diffuse the LEDs to try to make a more diffused look rather than having harsh and and hot spots on the LEDs kind of brightening up on the wall but this product should have never made it past quality control in my opinion. Now I love Corsair. I love their products and normally I'm really happy to recommend a Corsair product but with the LS100 starter kit I just can't recommend it

From testing today I can tell you that the ambient lighting is barely any lighting at all and you can't really even see the LEDs. Corsair LS100 Lighting Strips - Are they worth it?

 The Philip's Hue Play starter kit (comes with two hue play bars and the hue bridge, which is needed) can be found at many sites and brick and mortar stores for the same price as this kit, and many people claim they are much brighter than the LT100's. Its unfortunate because I really wanted this kit to be a good alternative to the Hue Plays, but it needs to go back to the drawing board for increased quality, specifically in the LED brightness department. Apart from that, they're really a standout piece on the desktop for sure.

 However if you want to use the mode on these new strips to react to the games that you've got playing, if you've also got your computer on your desk unfortunately the lights in that don't react to the games you're playing at this moment, I don't know of course who's going to change that, which means that you have a glow of one colour from your PC and then the backlighting changing regularly reacting to the screen and that is kind of off-putting and it doesn't work very well. So that means you have to go into the software and turn off all the lighting in your PC to then switch on the visualization mode and sync it with the game otherwise you're just sort of counteracting the experience because you've got a bright blue or bright RGB light coming from your PC and then the backlighting is like different so it kind of ruins the immersion it's not as good. Put your PC on the floor or just turn the RGB lighting off but having to do that each time is a pain. If you could get it so it light synced everything that would be amazing and it would be so bright in the room as well

 So here I am playing a bit of Call of Duty and you can see the lights reacting in the back and I don't feel like there's as much colour range there as I've seen with other kits. It reacts nicely still and it certainly adds an extra glow to it but it just doesn't seem quite as good as like Philips Hue or NX-T's kits like I said. However this is early days, perhaps some software updates and improvements in the future might enhance that because the lights themselves certainly have a good colour range and you can see a lot of different colours when you're using it within the iCUE software and just customising that. This is a monitor backlighting kit that provides ambient RGB backlighting and a number of different color customization features. Now this is actually an unboxing of three kits, two of which I'm going to be using the starter kit which includes two 450 mil strips and two 250 mil strips and the control box and the necessary cables as well as the extension kits. Now the extension kit here is another two 450 mil LED cables and then little one is two 250 mil so you can choose different ones depending on your monitor setup

I was trying to find ways to see if my room setup could be improved, and came across this -  *Lytmi NEO HDMI* 2.0 Sync Box &amp; TV LED Backlight Kit, Immersion Ambient Lighting 

It seems that this is a cheaper alternative to the Phillips Hue thingy which is USD 250.

 For this to work the strips must be set via IQ first to be under the external mode. If you want to set a specific effect you will need to be connected to the PC with IQ running. So my thoughts, if you're looking to brighten up your desk space behind your monitors or desk itself then the LS100 kit and expansion packs are excellent. Whilst connected to the PC with the IQ software running these work perfectly and the diffused light really makes the whole area come alive and it has a really high quality premium finish to it

 Aren't there cheaper alternatives and what sets these apart and makes them special? Well straight away they are no ordinary LED strips. These can be synced and controlled via your PC with Corsair's much loved IQ software. These can dynamically match on screen action, in games, movies, videos or even music. These strips are actually diffused so that means you don't see the individual LED lights but they also create a more immersive and intricate lighting effect

 So my thoughts, if you're looking to brighten up your desk space behind your monitors or desk itself then the LS100 kit and expansion packs are excellent. Whilst connected to the PC with the IQ software running these work perfectly and the diffused light really makes the whole area come alive and it has a really high quality premium finish to it. Now I really don't have much to say negatively here when used in this situation other than the fact that the physical controller becomes useless as IQ overrides it. However if you're looking to mount these behind your TV or somewhere else without a PC being in the mix then maybe look elsewhere

My LS100 RGB strips were previously placed behind my monitor and I never knew they'd look better around the desk instead!

 So I'm going to position these so they reflect off the wall. The magnets are actually on the light bars, and they give you these bits of metal with adhesive on the back. So make sure you get an idea of where they should go first, because they're very hard to take off. I'm putting them on the back of the monitor like this, and on the back of the desk

 So this is where I review gaming mice these days, and the problem is that the LEDs I use to light the back actually flicker on camera, they're not high quality. This is a very common issue for cheap LEDs. I also don't have much control over them, so I've been looking for alternatives. Corsair announced the LS100, so I reached out to them and asked if I could get some in exchange for a video
