Picked up the BikeErg and for longer sessions, whether it’s a 10k ride, a 1 hr ride, or what I do lately splitting a marathon into morning and evening rides (21k each), I find it easier to just setup, setup my iPad, and just lose track of time. It’ll do a slightly less job of raising HR (I’m hitting around 120-130 on the C2 versus the 150-160 on the Echo) but because I’m riding for 40-45 minutes versus the 10 minute on the Echo, I feel like it’s better for my overall conditioning.

The flywheel cage arrived bent and the right peddle is not attaching so I will call concept2 for advise tomorrow. Echo bike from Rogue and the Concept2 BikeErg are two different things. I assume you are asking about the BikeErg? Also as mentioned by others, if you hate the Assault Bike, you're going to hate an Echo Bike even more.

The clear winner for longer duration, steady state rides is the BikeErg.

For intervals, mixed modal, or sprint pieces it depends on your wants. Fan bikes will get a more potent stimulus but that means the output is also less sustainable.

Definitely switch out the pedals for double sided ones. The Bikeerg is my least favorite of the 3 C2 machines. My times are much better on the rower and skierg, but I’m going to work hard to improve on the bike.

This is a great exercise bike overall. It's easy to assemble (watch the Youtube video) and well-built of heavy duty components. The ride is smooth and you can get a very good workout with the bike.
