They said, they liked it so much it will stay in the listening room permanently. Even the much more expensive Gryphon below is apparently barely an improvement. After a long quarantine wait the Clearaudio Concept Black turntable outfitted with a Hana EH MC cartridge arrived last week. I’m still breaking it in, but it sounds fantastic right out of the box. I have owned a Concept previously, but this is my first Hana cartridge. It’s very impressive all across the frequency spectrum, but I’m most surprised by the bass response.

Take a look at Sota tables. Not as popular as say, VPI or clearaudio, but... They are some lovely machines and fly way under the radar..and IMHO, punch way above their price point.

All about $250ish. The Ortofon Blue and the Grado Gold have both been in my rotation on my previous table, liked both of them.

Personally I think it’s a poor decision to buy a $2000 turntable when you’re using $1000 speakers from a big box store brand. I would send the Denon in to get it retipped with a more advanced stylus type, and then save for a speaker upgrade. Consider a turntable up here upgrade *after* your next speaker upgrade. Your system would sound a lot better if you kept the Pro-Ject, got a retip, and switched your B&W’s for a set of KEF R3, Revel M106, or Philharmonic BMR than it would with the B&W speakers and a Clearaudio Concept.
