It mouts well to the older model but the paint does not hold up to the heat. The handles get very hot too, unlike the older midels with wooden handles.

This was gotten to make my char grill that I had into a smoker. It as simple to add to original grill and has done a fair job as a smoker. However the paint covering the upper half of the smaller grill has been burnt off and I plan to sand and paint it when the BBQ season has come to an end.

I am using this as a smoker box for my grill. The problem that I had initially is that all of the hardware was not included to attach to the grill. I had to go and get it from the store I bought my grill from.

Biggest issue is the lid does not close. At least a half inch gap. Will need to be wired down or a heavy weight on handle. Cosmetic issue are the 2 different sized handle rings. One on left is much larger.

I added this side box to my Legacy model and I have no regrets for the purchase. Slow cooking, regular and smoked are all just an thought away. Char Griller hit this one out of the park for me. Big Smile

Installation was a breeze and first two uses worked great. Be sure to burn or season Fire Box. Paint will blister and smoke, get that done before using for your meat. Other than that, nice product.
