So I have decided to make the splurge and get myself a Cellink Neo battery for my dash cam after some chav decided to bend my mirrors the other way when the car was parked at night. I have hard-wired the cellink battery to the battery, got the ACC signal into it and on this side everything works perfect. The camera enters parking mode as soon as the ignition is off.

Recommendation for system with battery backup (I learned the hard way)

Have a look at Cellink Neo I fitted one in my car. It's basically just a big external battery pack that you wire between the car and the camera. It charges itself when the engine is running and then when it's off it continues to power the camera. Also has a Bluetooth app so you can check its health and state of charge.

Yes, I have a Cellink Neo and a 124e that powers the dashcam and a hotspot. Max draw is about 1.2A without an issues. Just be aware that if you completely discharge the batteries they'll take about 1-1/2 hour to fully recharge.

Absolute most reliable dashcam if money is no object?

Also, I would recommend getting a battery pack if you want the dash cams to record while you're parked as well. Cellink NEO or PowerCell8 are both good options for battery packs. Again, avoid BlackVue battery packs, the defect rate in those is close to 25% for us within the first 2 years.
