 Now when I first got into these dash cam batteries, one of the major issues for me was when it's freezing cold, 0 degrees Fahrenheit or colder, my dash camera would basically just bring my car battery down to 12 volts every night and then I would get recharged each day while I drive, but that's not very good for your car battery and in the long run a standard hardwiring kit like the PowerMagic Pro could make your battery last shorter. So if you've got the money, these are awesome, but again they're $300. Now there is another model, a previous model called Cell Link Battery B which is about $100 less, around $200. I would look into that if you really want a battery but can't afford the $300 Neo or B124

 Now I'm doing this in my house with a 12-volt adapter, so I am using the cigarette port, so it's not going to be charging as quick. Now there are a few settings here, you can see override parking mode, timeout function. According to the manual, the override parking mode timeout function only applies to newer luxury vehicles, it says in particular BMW is manufactured for use in Korea with an inbuilt dash camera. So some cars, because they might have whatever electrical systems or built-in dash cameras, blah blah blah, the battery wouldn't work with them like a typical dash camera, so if you are using an aftermarket dash camera, such as one of the BlackVue cameras, you would turn that off

 Hey guys, this is John from U.S. Dash Camera.

 Today I got a review on the recently released BlackVue B124 battery.

 So now if you aren't aware of what these batteries are for, they are specifically designed for

 dash cameras to run your dash camera while your car is off.

 Now while your car is off, the dash camera will continue to be powered by this, but if

 you're using a BlackVue camera, it will switch to an automatic parking mode, and in that

 parking mode, it will only record when it needs to.

 For example, you can have it set to just record when your car is impacted, or you can have

 So that's just a quick rundown on why people use these.

 I believe it's around $300 U.S. dollars right now for this, and yeah, they're really expensive,

 but they are really cool if you can afford them.

 This one was sent to me for review by BlackVue, so I'd like to thank them for sending this

 It says, fast charging, get a full charge in 40 minutes if you hardwire it, or 80 minutes

 It is 6,000 milliamp hour, lithium iron phosphate battery, I believe that's what that stands

 I reviewed and installed another battery from Cell Link.

 Now the Cell Link Neo is pretty much the same thing.

 This is actually made in the same factory by Cell Link, but what's nice is even though

 the Cell Link has expandable battery, they have no plans to release it in the US where

 you can get the expansion for the BlackVue version here in North America.

 The only real benefit of the Cell Link option is if you go with the battery Neo from Cell

 Link, it does have different hardwiring kits available for the dash cameras, where this

 will only accept cameras like BlackVue that uses the 12-volt socket to power it, even

 Some cameras like Thinkware and BlackSys require the 3-wire connection, so through BlackBox

 My Car, which I'll provide links to where you can buy these, through BlackBox My Car

 if you get the Cell Link Neo, that would be more for cameras like the Thinkware, and I'll

 touch on that again in a little bit in this video, but let's open it up and see what it

 So right when you open it, it comes with all the accessories.

 Now I did not go through this yet, so it's all brand new.

 One thing, Cell Link battery Neo did not come with these.

 These are anacircuits to help you connect this to your fuse box.

 So it came with several different types, that's very generous of them.

 You've got some Velcro if you want to install this somewhere in your car, that way you can

 And then it came with different fuses, so I'm not going to go into the installation

 Instead, I'm going to include a video of the Cell Link Neo installation because it's not

 too hard, but I don't want to go too deep into it again in this video because it's pretty

 much the same product, but rebranded in a way.

 So then we have the cigarette port charger.

 So again, I would recommend hardwiring it, which is what this will be for.

 So this cable is really thick and that's how they're able to charge so quickly.

 This will connect to a ground, this will connect to one of these, and ideally on your fuse

 box you'll connect it to your ACC fuse, or basically any fuse that is only on while your

 So I installed this one under my passenger side seat again, just like the Cell Link Neo.

 Got a big manual, which is very nice, color, shows the app, something I forgot to mention,

 Can't remember, I think it's Bluetooth, but with the app you can connect to it and check

 the battery level, so I'll show that later in the video too.

 Now I'm going to pull the battery out, it's the last thing in the box.

 So here it is, it's very heavy, looks just like the Cell Link Neo, made in the same factory.

 Here you can see it says manufactured by eGen, who makes the Cell Link batteries, but it

 says designed by Pitasoft, who makes BlackVue products.
