Most recently/\s/my family and I went on a day hike to/\s/ one of the most popular areas uh/\s/here in the Tucson area and my son/\s/ always seemed to have a struggle with/\s/his pack or pack size or water carrying/\s/ or many of the mundane things that we find/\s/simple yet my nine-year-old decides that it's/\s/ well, just way too much overbearing for him. So/\s/in an effort to try and alleviate some of his/\s/ pressure in addition to make sure he has fun/\s/while the whole family decides to go outside/\s/ we opted to get him a new pack and in this time we/\s/geared our perspective on something more towards/\s/ kids. As I mentioned a moment ago, he's nine/\s/and we were using uh, some other packs that/\s/ We thought were were okay, but in this case they/\s/weren't So here's what we got

 So/\s/ if you open up the Velcro pocket here we can find/\s/that we do have a one and a half liter ladder/\s/ Now one thing we found out with the mini mule is/\s/the compartment that actually houses the bladder/\s/ can be a bit challenging to get out/\s/i'd rather make sure it stays secure/\s/ then it'd be loose so I don't mind the/\s/challenge but for some of you it may/\s/ or may not be worth a struggle.  There is no clip for the end of the straw.  My Camelback pack has a sweet little magnet that always finds its way back so the straw isn't flying around.  This tubing is relatively long and so when a little person sits down on their butt to scoot over rocks and steep terrain, the mouthpiece drags on the ground and through the dirt over and over again on a decent hike. It gets pretty gross

Not perfected for small hikers-still recommended

 We have a really nice sized, zip on the front here with an EZ pool toggle, which you can open up like so, and you're chocol fit their wallet or their keys in there with ease. We also have a really nice size pocket on the bottom here, which is really well organized inside there you go. I have a mesh material here which your child can store their mobile phone on and a really handy little keychain hook there. So it's really nice design either side

 As you can see here, it hooks into your compression, strap this I quote flap about when you're out and about and has a really simple design, the nozzle itself you literally bite down on like so nice, you can see, a small hole will appear will appear and The water will come out of this, so it's a really nice cool system.  We have adjustable compression straps here, which you can adjust according to personal preference, and keep your child's items nice and safe and secure inside to get a turn it around. So you can take a look at the back. We have these really nice mesh, shoulder straps, which will be really nice and comfortable for your child to wear and the back material itself is really nice and soft as well, so it'd be nice and cozy for your child. We have a chest strap here, which is adjustable via the little adjuster there and a really nice cool feature

  The construction of the Mule is good and the Mule bladder is durable, but it comes down to the ease of use of the product that I'll give my recommendation to Osprey Moki. The packs are comparably priced, but the value is with the Osprey because they also have a lifetime warranty.  The only advantage of the Mule for kids IMHO is the nozzle tip for kids.

I know this set for kids, but I can't with how tiny and cute this is. Perfect size for my little one for his hikes with Cub Scouts. He's seven, but on the petite size I do like the reflective tab stops and the whistle clip on the chest strap. The bag does have a bit of storage for a few snacks, but I wouldn't try to bring too much

 It is well insulated and kept my son's drink cool for our whole hike in 70 degree weather. Ordered for my five-year-old son and he loves it. He is not a small five-year-old and is in six and seven clothing. It is not a book bag to fit all their needs, but it does hold just enough water for him and space for a snack and his magnifying glass and other tools he takes when we go hiking or exploring

 made walking on a long trail more enjoyable not having to hold multiple water bottles. The pockets are on the small side, but we were able to fit some snacks in there for them.

 He likes all the pockets in the whistle on the chest strap. He likes that he doesn't have to ask for a water bottle, but he can get his own water. We like that he can carry his own water. Looks high quality, beautiful, and comfortable

 He carries a full first aid kit, flashlight whistle, three cliff bars, two fruit levers, and whatever treasures he finds on our hikes. The fit is perfect for a younger child lightweight, using for hikes as well as riding motorcycles in the desert. Our nine-year-old son wore his Camelbak mini mule constantly on our recent hiking biking vacation. He loves it
