 Hi, I'm Rick with TGW.com. In this video we're introducing the new Maverick Max iron from

 Callaway Golf and it's our intent to tell you what player we think is going to benefit

 most by switching to the Maverick Max. We'll talk to you about our first impressions when

 getting to hit the Maverick Max for the first time, talk about the look, the feel, and then

 obviously the performance. And then we'll talk to you about the technology that goes

 into the new Maverick Max from Callaway. Callaway is going with the KBS Max. It's an 80g steel

 shaft as their standard stock steel and then they're using the Project X catalyst as their

 standard graphite option. Callaway has opted to use the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 as their

 standard stock grip. Listed are the standard specifications on the Maverick Max. Remember

 TGW can accommodate any of your custom requests whether it comes to loft, lie, shaft, grip,

 or length. We'll talk to you about who we think would benefit most from going to the

 Maverick Max and I would say that it's definitely a player that's looking for maximum forgiveness,

 a player that is looking for maximum distance, and a player that's looking for a little bit

 higher trajectory. Talk to you about our first impressions when getting to hit the Maverick

 Max for the first time and I'll start with appearance. I would say that while the Maverick

 Max is definitely a game improvement oversized club, it's got a larger silhouette. While

 it does have a thicker top line, I'm really impressed with the way Callaway has designed

 the cavity of the club and with a lot of game improvement oversized clubs at address you

 start to see the back of the sole stick out from behind the top line of the club and the

 Maverick in that regard sets up very clean. It does have significant offset so it's going

 to benefit a player who tends to miss to the right. But then the feel of the Maverick Max

 and again with both the Maverick and the Maverick Max, I was probably most impressed with just

 how sweet the ball feels coming off the face. A lot of times with this type of club that's

 designed for forgiveness, you start to sacrifice feel. The club tends to resonate, gets a little

 twangy. I just can't express how sweet the Maverick Max feels at impact. We'll talk about

 the performance of the Maverick Max and again this is where I would stress that this is

 a distance club, not only as a forgiving club but it's designed to help players with distance

 and I picked up probably about five yards testing an eight iron over my current club.

 Most interestingly is that my ball speed was only slightly higher but I found that the

 Maverick Max had a little bit lower spin rate and it was just a little bit more penetrating.

 But at a higher launch angle, we were launching the eight iron at about 20 degrees. I was

 getting nice elevation on my shot so I was getting about 85 feet in the air which is

 right in the trajectory window that we'd want to be and getting a good descent angle of

 about 44 degrees. So the combination of slightly lower spin, a little bit more ball speed and

 a high launch was giving me again about a half a club extra distance. We'll talk about

 the technology that goes into the Maverick Max and I would say one of the most impressive

 things is how the face is designed. The face is designed using artificial intelligence.

 There's a computer program that will design the face of an iron and then test it through

 many iterations and then redesign again and again and again and not only are the faces

 designed with variable thickness to maximize ball speed and distance on shots hit across

 the face, every face is made independently. When you change the angle of the face, every

 action that you put on a club has a reaction so the computer has designed not only one

 face for the Maverick but a face for each club in the set. The Maverick irons also have

 tungsten weights that are strategically placed internally which are going to help optimize

 launch and trajectory. Most impressive again in my regard was the feel and Callaway is

 using the urethane microspheres in the metal and that just helps provide such an outstanding

 feel on in-game improvement club. And then slightly different from the standard Maverick,

 the Maverick Max has a slightly wider sole which again is going to help raise the trajectory
