 This board is great for a beginner, so someone that's new to snowboarding for your first

 snowboard, this is a great board for you.

 Also if you're on a budget, it's an incredible snowboard for the money.

 The board is a twin outline with a slight directional shape, slight taper, which allows

 the board to give it more versatility, so it will work everywhere and work well everywhere.

 In terms of profile, this is a flat top snowboard, so it's completely flat in between the bindings

 and the outside of the binding has a slight rocker or rise.

 The board has stability through the middle, but also manoeuvrability on the contact point,

 so this board will be easy to turn, easy to inspire confidence when you're learning to

 turn and also give you enough stability once you've learned to turn to give you power and

 In terms of the base, well the base on this board is an extruded base, so this is a nice

 fast extruded base, but it's easy to fix and repair if you scratch it on a rock or you

 drop it or anything like that, it's easy to fix.

 In terms of the flex of the board, I would say this is about a 2 or 3 out of 10, so it's

 The softer board will make it more forgiving and more friendly and more fun, quite simply.

 In terms of the core, we have the fly core, it's a nice engineered wood core with two

 different types of wood in it, so this is not a simple snowboard in that kind of terminology.

 Limitations of the board if you've been riding a while and you want something that's powerful

 and aggressive, this is probably not the board for you, it might be a little bit too soft

 This board is definitely better for a newer rider or someone that's price sensitive or

 Hello, I'm Matt Gough from House.com, and this is a board kind of where it all starts

 This is the 2020 Burton Ripcord, an all-mountain deck that has a directional shape for beginner

 It kind of sits in two of my top three lists from Burton, one being the bang for your buck

 and, of course, best beginner boards list.

 The nose is quite a bit longer than what you'll find in the tail because most people who ride

 the Ripcord, as they're learning to ride and carve, tend to ride basically one direction,

 but it still allows you to ride switch, which is great.

 Another cool thing about the Ripcord is that it features a flat top profile shape.

 Flat top is basically flat underneath and between the feet with an early rise outside

 of that single channel system mounting pattern.

 Now, with that kind of up rise that you'll see here, there's also an easy bevel on the

 Those contact points are quite a bit less catchy than what you'll find in a full flat

 board camber or hybrid-style deck, and that's good for anyone who's learning how to progress

 and kind of like test the limits of what they can do on their board.

 Now, it features a directional-style flex.

 The tail's going to be just slightly stiffer than what you'll find in the nose because

 of that overall directional-style shape.

 There's a certified fly core that is squeeze box low-core profiling, too.

 Someone does a great job at profiling their cores to give direct energy transfer right

 to your edge, and they do that by having a little bit more of a thick core on the lateral

 The rest of the core is kind of the standard-style thickness, and then there's the Biax fiberglass

 that you find on top and on bottom of that wood core that allows the board to be pliable

 but still have a bit of kind of like fun feelings to it without being too soft.

 The base is extruded, and it's a very easy and low-maintenance base.

 It's perfect for anyone who's kind of getting into the sport or anyone who doesn't really

 want to like take a lot of time messing around with their board.
