 The second con for me is the carafe, it's only 10 cups instead of a preferred 12 cup size, now on a standard coffee maker I would not complain, but for a coffee maker of this size there is no reason it cannot have a bigger carafe. The last thing I wish it had is a permanent filter so I don't have to purchase paper filters, however I will look into purchasing one of those separately. As for the brew time I would say it's about 20 minutes in total, it takes about 10 minutes or so for the water to heat thoroughly before it will start brewing and from then it's about another 10 minutes to brew the full pot of coffee. The length of the brew time does not bother me because I do believe that it helps with the quality, the coffe is brewed hot and stays hot longer

  When we first started using it, we immediately noticed the horrible plastic taste the coffee had. After a few weeks it has improved, but the coffee still doesn't taste quite right.  Now it's been less than a month, and the spray head has apparently gotten clogged up. I assume it's because of mineral deposits from our hard water, but the coffee maker is supposed to detect that and display a "CLEAN" warning on the panel

We bought this to replace our BUNN BX Speed Brew Classic when my elderly father moved in with us, so that he would always wake up to a fresh pot of coffee even if my wife and I decided to sleep in.  Coffee needs to be brewed between 195 and 205 to extract the flavor of the beans. This coffee maker does that perfectly. I measured the temperature of the brew to be 200 degrees, which is in the proper range. It might take a little longer to heat the water, but it's well worth the wait
