Creative Sound BlasterX H5 Headset
Wear and Tear
Original cable broke after one and a half years but could easily be replaced since it was detachable. I replaced it with a normal cable so lost the inline controls but I never used them anyway so I do not consider that a big loss. The fake leather on the earcups and headband also has worn almost completely off but this did not start until after I had owned the headphones for roughly two and a half years. Finally I lost the detachable microphone. Everything that broke broke after the warranty period and Creative would not send me or sell me either a new inline control or new earcups when they broke after warranty.
I like that these headphones are light and comfortable and with big enough earcups that they do not press on my ears. The build quality is also excellent and they really do feel sturdy even though they are quite light for their size. The audio quality is overall good for a gaming headset but not anything special. Despite being closed back headphones they actually do not block that much sound so I would not recommend using these headphones while traveling or in a loud environment. The microphone sounds good and manages to not pick up much noise, although it is a little quiet but that can be fixed with settings on the computer.
