As such, I find it a pain to have to babysit devices attached to this panel in order to protect those devices from discharging into the panel. Would it have been so difficult to have installed blocking diodes on the outputs? They're not expensive and a standard feature of most solar power systems. I'd really like to be able to plug in my devices for the day and return to them charged up, or at the very least, not discharged

  A major shortcoming of this panel is that it doesn't have a blocking diode installed on the outputs. Devices like phones use their charge ports for charging the phone as well as powering other devices. Should this panel fall into shade while connected to something like a phone, the panel will act as a resistive load, and the phone will actually drain charge from its batteries into the panel. The blocking diode prevents charge from entering the panel from output devices

  I remember multiple times seeing my phone connected to the panel charged to nearly 90+% full and then an hour or two later, after the panel was (partially) in the shade the battery was drained into the low 30s, or sometimes completely drained. Somehow does not charge my iPhone and iPad. Otherwise micro USB devices (power banks, Android phones) charging well. Overall quality seems good.

 You have to be very confident that your power brick / device is secure enough in the pocket to not fall out (no problem if you’re using the solar panel on the ground, but there was a risk on a boat!).  The opening to the pocket is on the bottom, so if you clip the panel to a vertical surface (like your backpack), the thing you are trying to charge will likely fall out of the pocket. I went for a hike with the solar panel unfurled and clipped to my backpack, and had to keep the power brick / phone either in my backpack, or in my pants pocket while it was tethered to the solar panel via charging cable. It was an ok workaround

Highly recommend that kind of closure if you intend to be actively moving (hiking / biking / sailing) with your solar panel!  Overall, given how we needed to conserve power on the boat, this panel was an essential tool on our trip that we relied on every day for weeks, and it delivered!

 We used the provided carabiners to clip the panels to the awning and then we harvested the sunlight.  My only complaint is the pocket in my model (for sale here) closes with a small strip of Velcro. Seriously disappointed, very poor performance

 I've been trying it for a month and it is able to keep my phone and USB chargeable bike accessories charged. In addition, I have a 56k mA power brick that I use this solar panel to charge. I haven't been able to fully charge that though. It looks like this will be enough to sustain me while off the grid!  I have been able to charge a bike light and earbuds even on a mostly overcast day

good charge in less than optimal sunlight.

 it saved me by charging my phone and portable usb lamp.  it folds into a very convenient size that i carried inside my backpack and it doesnt weight.  unfolding it- it placed in a nice way on the tent to the direction of the sun for extra comfort while staying indoors in the tent charging my phone.  it fully chargers my phone pixel 5 in an hour - hour and a half while it turned off
