 It's probably three-quarters of an inch thick. It's not bad-looking. It's got kind of a nice rounded shape here, but some of them look pretty sleek and you know this has kind of a portable radial look to it. Kind of a very distinct speaker, housing, mute button, LED light, volume knob, and that's all, and there's a little microphone hole, and that's all great actually in some ways

 It's the law! Just kidding. There's lots of things that you can actually do to be compliant. You can use one of those like earbuds, yuppie type Bluetooth earpieces, but in fact, they make these types of Bluetooth speaker, receiver, transceiver type of speakerphones that clip onto your sun visor. Now this is the CK-11 wireless car kit and the reason I picked this one up in particular was because when I was looking on Amazon it was not only one of the cheapest but it was one of the best-selling and it was one of the highest reviewed ones

 So I'm just gonna pair this to my phone and then let's make some calls and see what kind of quality we get on it. All right, so I've clipped on the speakerphone here and as you can see it is on the the Sunvisor on the driver's side. Now, I do actually have this on already and I did pair it to my phone. Not the bird parrot, just paired it

 I considered chucking it out the window, but I need to see if warranty service is possible. The results of that effort will determine whether or not I revise this review. For now, but at your own risk.

 Many speakers do come larger, but not with as good electronics. Plus, the smallish speaker probably allows the battery to last as long as it does. Everyone can hear me over the mic just fine, as good or better than any other unit I've tried. Before I bought this unit, some of the reviews said charging is a challenge and I experienced this as well

 So far my replacement unit has worked perfectly, and in the couple of weeks I've had it, I haven't even had to charge it yet so I don't know whether that problem has gone away. Regardless, I can recommend this unit and haven't found any other I would buy again after having tried many of them.

 Customer service was prompt and friendly with repeated follow-ups, and they wanted my old unit back for examination. I had difficulty getting the shipping label from them by email, but it wasn't from their lack of trying. So far my replacement unit has worked perfectly, and in the couple of weeks I've had it, I haven't even had to charge it yet so I don't know whether that problem has gone away.  Instead of using their charging unit, I'm using a standard USB port charger in my car and just keep the cord for the bluetooth unit in the car to charge when needed. Their charger is a bit worthless for me if it can't also charge my phone. I did contact the company about this and they said it only works for the unit and doesn't charge other items. Full disclosure, the company did give me a $5 refund when I pointed this issue out and said I would need to have a different or second charger for my car

 The mic is as good as any I've used for a peripheral or a car-integrated solution. My bride can parse out what I'm saying up to highway speeds, and after that any expectations are unfair. The really cool part is the how the Avantree manages the Bluetooth connection and pairing. Once I first paired, the device notifies of a loss of connection when I move past maybe 15' away from my vehicle, and re-pairs automatically when I return within the same radius

 The sound quality with respect to hearing your party is okay. It's not spectacular, but my ratings were based a bit on price and value. I wasn't expecting the unit to give me high fidelity. It doesn't, but it's adequate for speech

 My car doesn't have built-in bluetooth, so I needed to do one of the following: purchase a costly bluetooth kit for my car's model or use a third party solution.  The Avantree CK11 is easy to use out of the box. The sound quality with respect to hearing your party is okay. It's not spectacular, but my ratings were based a bit on price and value
