Let me down it's an amazing bag to travel with. It's an amazing backpack to hike with to go outdoors on multiple days single days.

3 -?? Days personal - Atlas Athlete + Tortuga Outbreaker Daypack. The daypack fits in the camera bag with packing cubes in IT, then fits the rest of everything else I need to travel indefinitely with Camera Gear. Has a stretch outside pocket for jacket and huge water bottle pockets, and a comfortable and supportive harness.

I just traveled Peru for 3 weeks with the Atlas Athlete backpack. Packs as small as 20L (for making it easy to carry-on your flight with your camera gear) and as large as 40L (great for trekking). Inside it has several places to safely store your camera and multiple lenses/drone. I really enjoyed having a laptop pocket inside as well.

I suggest the Atlas Packs Athlete pack. It's the closest thing I've found that can be 40L and collapse to ~20L, carry camera gear (it is designed for photographers), still has room to pack non-camera gear, and it's comfortable enough to hike in. It has true backpack suspension (even load lifters!) And yet the hip belt and frame can be removed when not needed.
