Hi,
I want to treat myself to a new snowboard! I own my own boots but always rented a board every year until now (told myself I'd try boards and buy a board I'd like from renting but never actually did that). I ride on the icecoast (mostly Killington, Stowe, Hunter mt). I am probably an intermediate maybe starting to push advance rider, been riding for about 7 years. Can handle majority of blacks. Usually stay out of the park, occasionally will do a jump or box. Any recommendations for the best board and bindings for me? Price is mostly a non-factor. Ideally not more than $500 for the board but I'm just interested in best recommendations. Thank you!

Snowboard Advice

If you want something that will grip like a mofo, you need full camber + edge tech. Lib Tech TRS C3 or Arbor Element Camber. Those would be my two suggestions.

As the title states, I am currently trying to find a new all-mountain board to replace/supplement my current board which is more powder-oriented. I have been looking at Capita Mercury and Lib Tech T.Rice Pro, but I feel like I am overthinking it way too hard at this point. A bit of background information, I am based in Europe which means that I often face quite icy conditions. Using my current board, I feel like I have a very hard time catching an edge when compared to my friends' boards. A bit of background information: I do not live in a country with mountains, so I get to snowboard 1-2 weeks a year, meaning that I have around 70-80 days of boarding under my belt. I spend most of my time riding groomers, but I will occasionally find myself riding off-piste or in the park. 

What would you guys suggest that I take a look at?

Best All-mountain board for icy conditions?

Hi. I’m a 40yr old, 5’10” 180lb size 11 male living in the PNW. Last season was my first. Got out 20 or so days. Locked up a season pass at Meadows for next year. Family fell in love with the sport. 

I rode last season on an Arbor Element rocker 162mw. Worked well. I don’t know what I don’t know so want to add a second board of a camber/hybrid type and keep progressing. 

Riding wise....I’m an advanced beginner? Early intermediate? I spend most of my time on blue runs just turning. Can tackle single blacks without feeling like I’m going to die or backside plow all the way down. Didn’t hit them much mostly because I’m with my 10yr old daughter who also started last year. I get edge to edge and speed wise could keep up with some advanced friends (who weren’t completely sending it I’m sure but they commented they were surprised I was right with them) at the end of the year.

I will never spend a second in the park. If I do I made a wrong turn. I’m not going to be buttering. If I get air it wasn’t on purpose. I’m fine off groomers but I won’t be backcountry for awhile if ever. 

I feel like I have analysis paralysis on boards and there are 50 solid options. Help me out. 

Current top 3 is Lib Dynamo, Orca, or Yes Hybrid

basically looking for an all-mountain, twin directional board around 155-160cm with medium-soft flex that's slightly more groomer/park oriented than powder, I'm on the ice coast. max budget $400. cool, I know exactly what I (think I) want. But how do I go about actually selecting a board? There's a gigantic number of companies with a gigantic number of options to choose from, and while I plan on buying local I'd like to go in with a few models that I'd want before a salesman pitches me on something I don't actually know much about. Plus, I've only ridden a crappy board from the 90s and another beat up old board from the 2000s, how do I even know what I want for sure?

So my snowboard is over ten years old and I just moved somewhere with a mountain within 45 minutes. I’m very stoked to use my season pass to the fullest. It is time for me to get new gear, a completely new setup. I’m an all mountain rider and occasional powder hound. Do any of you have opinions on the Burton Custom, Custom X, or the Yes Standard boards? I def prefer a cambered board. I want something with good maneuverability that I can kind of do a bit of everything on but tbh not a ton of park, mostly groomers, tree lines, powder, bowls, etc. I’d appreciate some insight from y’all, board tech has changed so much since I was last in the market!
