I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped a 5700X in order to undercut Rocket Lake's i9 if it takes back the gaming crown. The actual performance uplift is fine, though it really doesn't look like they changed match despite what they were saying, it'll be interesting to see precisely what other big changes were made other then branch prediction and CCX unification, and I also wonder how much of this stuff is in preparation for future architectures and CPU sokets.

Great upgrade for those who want an 8 core without the high temps.

I took a chance on this over the 5800X because of the 65w TDP. It turns out that this thing runs really cool. In fact it runs at the same temps that my Ryzen 5 2600 ran at. After having a bad experience with my Ryzen 5700x I'm finally back to the Intel family, the 5700x was my first AMD chip and unfortunately I had a lot of issues, so I decided to sell it and get a new 12600k, I'm very happy now. I’m pretty happy with my 5700X so I’ll probably just wait. There are going to be growing pains for AM5 just like how Zen 1 was at launch. Wait and see is the best approach imo. Maybe they will have things somewhat stable by the time the 3D v cache Zen 4 chips release.
