Ski gloves come and go, but the Gordini GTX Storm Trooper II has been around for a long time, and we hope it stays that way. Our testers are continually impressed by how well this glove can hang with the big dogs while costing significantly less. This glove is more than capable of meeting the needs of the average resort skier. It has a lot of leather for the price, boosting its longevity into multiple ski seasons. It's also very waterproof &mdash; we never experienced cold or wet hands in these gloves. 
While these gloves are warm enough for most days at the ski resort, they can't compare to other well-insulated or heated models. They pack insulation around the fingertips, which hinders dexterity for general tasks and rules out fine motor skills, like opening small zippers or searching for items in pockets. We'd recommend a more dexterous glove for users with more refined dexterity needs, like on-snow professionals or parents. Still, for the price, these shortcomings are minor, and we would recommend these gloves to anyone who needs high-performance gloves at a bargain price.

If you only get out a handful of times each year or don’t want to blow your ski gear budget on gloves, the Gordini GTX Storm Trooper II is a winner. You don’t get the premium shell fabric of our top pick, but this glove is durable, waterproof, and just plain works. In addition, warmth and coziness is surprising good considering the $70 price—it’s a step down from the Hestra Heli and Black Diamond Guide, but the difference isn’t substantial and should be plenty for most days on the hill.

Both the Storm Trooper II and Burton Gore-Tex below are solid options at around $70 (and both often are on sale for less). The Gordini is a little warmer overall, although the removable lining gives the Burton more flexibility for warmer ski days. But the Storm Trooper is much softer on the interior and the best budget ski glove we’ve used to date. The Dakine Camino ski glove offers excellent value. Constructed with a nylon shell and leather palm, it provides dexterity with the insulation packed strategically towards the back of the hand. It also comes with a thin synthetic liner to enhance warmth on super cold days. The thinner construction at the palm provides breathability, making it functional for backcountry touring and resort use. When choosing a glove for warmer winter weather, we often reached for this glove. You also can't go wrong with the price.
With a lower price comes some tradeoffs. It is not wholly protective in super wet conditions, and it's not very warm. The fit with the included liner is a bit tight, so if you're on the fence, size up. If you seek a low-priced glove option and run warm, look no further, it also has great features.
