.this isn't the same one.  Edited to Add: The original one with the indicator lights is actually model # CS6114-2 which appears to be difficult to find for sale anywhere right now. Not even Vtech's own website has it for sale, though you can see they still sell its accessories

 The light on the base that indicates the phone in use tells me that someone (usually my husband) was using the handset in another part of the house. This was useful for me if I got up and began looking around the living room for it but seeing the light told me that I could sit back down and just wait my turn.  The rough finish of this newer phone is just kinda annoying but nothing that I can't live with. They can keep the rough finish but at least give me my lights back!  So, there ya go

  The phone I am replacing has a smooth, shiny finish and more importantly; it has two indicator lights. One on the handset that tells you when it's charging and another on the base to tell you the phone is in use.  The phone I am now reviewing has a rough finish and NO indicator lights. So we are dealing with this VTech phone, but we look for any comments you might have about inexpensive landline phones that would work, that don't have so much static, that would be something that would be really helpful to us right now.

 We just needed one, and we didn't want anything fancy, so we got the base model. Maybe it was $30, $25, but we have been very disappointed with this.

 I'm going to do a very brief review on this telephone and if there's enough interest I'll

 But the other thing which I found really interesting is the fact that it has a standard wall mount.

 So you can take the telephone and hang it on the wall and it would hang just like this.

 You don't need an additional overpriced accessory bracket that you have to order from the manufacturer

 or something like that which is often times the case with the cordless phones of today.

 The other thing I like is that the buttons are very large.

 A problem I see with most telephones today is the buttons are too small for my preference

 and I end up pressing more than one button at a time when trying that out quickly.

 These buttons are very large and I have no issues accurately pressing each one without

 The backlighting on the display and the buttons is green and the buttons are very legible.

 It's showing up very nicely in the video but in person, I mean it's plenty legible but

 it does leave a little bit to be desired in terms of contrast.
