These are absolutely great hooks. I fish Trout so replacing all treble hooks was absolutely necessary & these worked extremely well (2 treble swim bait? Place rear treble replaced w/ these inline w/ tip pointed rearward & front w/ tip pointed forward). Extraordinarily sharp, strong and have not rusted at all in my use. A great option for treble replacement!

The tokyo rig In this style flipping and pitching and punching The weight is on the bottom the bait is up top look at it So when I get through that mat or that heavy cover or those brush piles or standing trees Look at the look at the bait staying above the bottom Even a drop shot couldn't do that right because a drop shot the down leader is just lying It's just braider fluorocarbon the bait hits the bottom that line compresses on itself the bait falls on the bottom but in a tokyo rig With this flipping and pitching method That wire is rigid look it's rigid

The Tokyo Rig: Everything You Need to Know (Part 1)

 I'm a wide gap guy, that's the one I choose. So we'll take our Tokyo rig, they come with a swivel on them, a little dropper and a hook. Match your hook up to the size bait you want to use, then take your line and this is basically a heavy duty power fishing drop shot rig. So we're going to do this with a bit heavier line and a bit stouter tackle

 Then the next, last step is selecting your bait. This happens to be a little beaver style bait, cross style bait. That's what I prefer for flipping. You can rig any style plastic you want on there, but basic text pose rig, push it into the head of the bait, just pass the bar, pop it through, slide it up over the bend, line it up on the back side, keep it super straight, punch through and then just tuck the point back in

 Match your hook up to the size bait you want to use, then take your line and this is basically a heavy duty power fishing drop shot rig. So we're going to do this with a bit heavier line and a bit stouter tackle. So you tie on to the end of the swivel, any knot of your choice, just going to quick do a polymer, trim off the tag and we got it attached to our line. The next step is adding the weight and with a Tokyo rig, I flip it a lot into grass and wood and I will say one thing, you can get by with a lot lighter weight on a Tokyo rig than you could with a Texas rig or a jig

 I see people, you know, put a whole loop in there or whatever and then when you go to switch weights, you end up tearing up the wire. So I just put a slight bend in there, keeps the weight from sliding off. Then the next, last step is selecting your bait. This happens to be a little beaver style bait, cross style bait

Bassmaster Elite Series pro, Seth Feider, shows us how to set up the Tokyo Rig that was brought to market by VMC and gives anglers a slightly more finesse option when throwing Texas Rigs around cover. The drop down wire acts as a beefed up drop shot, perfect when the fish prefer something a little different. Here are the steps to set it up.

1. Choose which hook option you prefer (worm, flipping, EWG)
2. Match the hook to the size bait you want to use
3. Tie line to the end of the swivel with the knot of your choice (palomar is a     great option)
4. Add weight to the wire. Flipping style weight with cone facing down. Put a slight bend in the wire to hold it in place.
5. Add soft plastic bait (craw/tube/beaver/worm). Texpose soft bait on hook.

How to Set Up the Tokyo Rig - YouTube

 You know, rod and reel and line, basically I'd fish this bait on your traditional pitching flipping worm rod that you would normally fish. I prefer a seven foot to a seven and a half foot medium heavy rod. My favorite rod is seven two, it's medium heavy. And on the reel, same thing, the normal reel you'd use to fish a worm or a flip or a pitch bait, low profile reel, something with a quicker gear ratio, seven to one or higher is perfect

 But the best way I can describe it is think about an Alabama rig. You know, an Alabama rig has a ton of components, but they get mesmerized by the action of the bait. Same thing here. You know, this bait is going to have such fluid movement, the hardware doesn't impede the action, doesn't impede the number of bites you're going to get, even in really clear water

 It's going to present that thing in a different way. The fish haven't seen it, you're going to get more hookup ratios, you're going to get more action out of the bait. You know, if you're looking for something that's new, if you want to stay ahead of the curve, if you want a cutting edge technique, try this punch shotting technique, grab one of the new VMC Tokyo rigs, modify it however you want. I guarantee you're going to present a bait to the fish in a different way and you're going to catch more bass

 I'm going to put a little J bend in that wire and that's basically going to keep those weights from sliding off. So I just close the wire and now when I turn this around you're going to start to get this rig. Now we've got the weights below the hook on a wire. I've got two quarter ounce weights so I'm going to get easy penetration
