Viofo A129 Pro Duo vs VIOFO A229

Parking mode is a bit of a mystery to me, though. I've set it up to record in timelapse, but it just keeps on recording in regular mode. Maybe that's just me doing something wrong. Also, the image quality is pretty good on the front camera, but not $250 good

I bought this cam and the recommended hardwire kit to take advantage of parking mode - capturing videos after motion detection, or physical movement while the car is off/parked. the video , front and rear work fine while the car is on, but when the car is turned off, the camera goes into parking mode for about 2 minutes before turning completely off, and recording nothing if there is motion in front of the camera, or the car is moved/bumped/hit. I have verified several times that the wiring is correct, and have had an e-mail dialog with support for 2 months, but no resolution, they keep asking me if the voltage switch is set to the lowest setting, and if my wiring is correct. I have sent verification and photos of each, and they have supported my findings, but them will ask the same questions again

I run my dashcam on the highest resolution on both cameras, and the highest bitrate on both cameras, sectioned off into 1 minute clips, both front in rear. The dashcam sections these off into numbers, for example: "20200818_101037R". These break down into the following: 2020 - year, 08 - month. 18 - day, _ - separates the day with the exact time, 10- military hours, 10 - 10 mins, 37 - 37 seconds into the minute, R/F - Rear camera and Front camera respectively

When installing take a black sharpie or some kind of marker and under the red plastic that you peel off to stick the cameras on the windshields you will see a white strip, color this black first, lest you have a white line you will clearly see through your window. This dash camera is one of the best I have seen so far. Installation was easy with the included trim tool witch was a very nice add, the rear camera cable is nice and thing and is easy to route through trim and weather stripping with ease. Setup of the dash cam is easy and the menus are easy to navigate and has a ton of features. The app makes managing the camera and retrieving your footage a sinch

When trying to keep the dash cam up and out of my view, the only good spot I could mount the camera also happened to be right behind my rear view mirror. While this doesn't completely limit my ability to adjust the rear view mirror, if the unit were 1-2mm thinner then it would be a non-issue. Small complaint for an otherwise great dash cam for the price.

Change Loop Recording time to 2 min for smaller file size. Change Video Bitrate to High or Maximum. Use a durable microSD card like Samsung Pro Endurance.
