 It's got a really kind of chunky feeling chassis with that 38 hard with a really kind of meaty feeling chassis. This bike just has a really planted feel to it and I'm glad that they spec this bike with 2.4 inch tires so you can really feel just how good the suspension actually is. I mean it is a big wheelbase, it's a big chainstay, but on fast trails, you know, Once you get it up to speed, this big thing is pretty dang playful

 everything just feels so damp and and just kind of like high quality. Yeah, oh, this bike is absolutely loving this wide open, fast trail. It's pretty fun to pre-load this bike off of these little trail features today too. It's got like a a slightly playful side to it

 But nice thing about this bike is you just keep your butt in the saddle and mash out some gnarly climbs. It's just so comfortable. The spire is like a special example of what a what kind of steep hills a big 29er can winch up with the right geometry for the kind of genre of bike this is. They got some nice geometry going on like a 486 reach and a 63 head tube angle in the high setting which I've been riding this bike in

and greatest Enduro bikes,

And although it's a long load
geometry screams slugger,

it has a poise and immobility
that could surprise many

Of course, the Spire isn't
the first long travel

There is also the
Sentinel, which many of you

The Sentinel however, now
in a second generation,

still doesn't come near
this, when we talk about

Whereas the Sentinel has
150 mm of rear wheel travel.

This bruiser has 170 mm
and transition claim,

Speaking of geometry, this
bike with a 63° head angle

is slacker than a substitute
teacher going through

And that's not even
touching the flip chip,

Now half a degree Isn't a
massive change, but it is notable

The seat tube on the other
hand is incredibly steep

If you were to ride this
bike in its high setting,

You'd be riding the bike in
the small, medium and large

If you were riding the XL or
XXL, you'd add an extra six mm

to that for a whopping
four, five, two rear end.

The large on test here has
a reach of 480 millimeters

Now if you please, let's
transition onto the suspension.

So this bike here uses the
brand's GiddyUp system.

This is essentially a four
bar that delivers 170 mm

It does so via a 65 mm
stroke on a 230 eye-to-eye

The giddy up suspension
uses 23% progression

On the front of the bike, there
is a rock shock Z ultimate

with a charger two damper
that has 170 mm of travel.

park for a while now,

So my question to you is
the Spire, it's the longest

Let's talk handling
first, slow tight trails.

- It was definitely rescued
by the steep seat tube angle,

The things that make it for
me, when I rode on the descent,

man it gave us such, you know,
great small warm sensitivity.

in the climbs a bit and
it did have you reaching

numbers might suggest.

which isn't excessively long

It is rescued by that
steeper seat tube angle

4 Magic Merry front and Big Betty rear and a soft compound and super trail casing. Personally, for a bike this long travel, I would probably chuck a super gravity on out back, but either way, the casing the super trail casing is fairly robust. Not a big deal. One other thing that I really liked is that Transition offers really comprehensive support and I had no idea until I needed to get some parts for my Sentinel personal bike a while back

 Stands flows pretty light, pretty stiff. They handled nice. just a utilitarian offering. nothing crazy

 For the last few months, I've been rallying around on this bike here.
