TP-Link Deco Mesh Router System vs TP-Link Deco W7200

The reason I know it's wireless is that connecting directly to the switch via Ethernet (which bypasses the Deco completely) returns expected speeds. Rebooting the Deco is the only solution I've found, but that's not sustainable during the mid-day. I guess I'm just old school. But I completely dislike these newer routers forcing you to use a mobile app to configure them

Its speed is awesome. And its app is very nice to use. If you don't handing the reigns over to the device to basically control itself, then you will probably like this product. I think there is a lot of overlap between the non-technical consumer who wants good Wifi with easy setup, and the consumer who can tolerate a little lag when watching YouTube because their device's connection dropped for 30 seconds

Been using it for a week now and no reboots and complete connectivity with all the computers and devices running. Since I do IT for a living I do hate their app as it is too simple and the web interface is a joke compared to the iPhone app's. The advanced feature just are not there for someone who knows what they are doing but the price is right and when I need my son to get offline I can easily toss him on the deny list and his gaming computer is offline. Don't need their subscription plan for that

For example, her devices do not have access to the internet between 10pm and 10am. Her profile is set to 2 hours a day. She would attempt to get online at 10am and insights would show multiple hours used and wouldn't let her online. I would have to increase the daily limit to allow her to get online

I got this for the parental controls (to limit my kids daily time) and for whole house coverage. You have to pay a subscription fee to get the parental controls, which I did. The problem is that, unless you power the devices off, they download in the background (apps checking for updates, system updates, etc) . The two hour allocation would be used up while they were in school and I'd have to keep adding time after they got home
