 The design is on point, but for small bag there's a couple of things. Come on in topo. let's let's talk about this thing. First of all, we need some organization somewhere

I Want to carry it every day I Want it to look good and when I I want to know my stuff days I Want all my stuff too thick? you know I don't want unnecessary things like cinch straps I'm dead. You don't necessarily need on the twenty liter backpack. You want a nice carry handle you venting one of that. you want nicer wider strap on backpack straps I Know this is a popular bag but for me it's It's a pass so this will be going back

 look for those inside this main compartment which is you know it. It's not fully line with the hive is so when you look at it, then you get this the green fabric and it's it. can be hard to see in there. So now I'm looking for those pouches they sell for like $15 a piece in this large space

Topo Designs Rover Pack Coming Up Short Of Being A Good Everyday Carry (EDC) Backpack

The straps are padded for roaming around town, but wouldn't take for a long day hike.    The compression straps are fine, but not really needed with the straps to close the top lid and the compression in the water bottle holders.

The laptop sleeve holds a surface laptop with room to spare, but it goes to the bottom of the bag so be careful if setting down your bag hard.  There is not much padding on the bottom to protect it.  There are 3 main pockets with the large drawstring open main storage, zippered front pocket, and zippered lid pocket.  Ample space for a 20L bag

 Let'S check inside thoughts, there's no zipper holding the contents in you. Just have the strap here and you flap that over and nothing's going to come out so take a look inside by pillow and inside you can see. We'Ve got the same. Exterior color wrote the back

 The fluo yellow internal section, which makes it a lot easier to see everything, that's inside your bag and we've got the laptop fits right at the back. It'S a chuckle up top in this is a 13 inch laptop, but I believe it will hold greater than that. As well so that fits in there quite easily, with quite a bit of space to spare and also on that laptop section. We'Ve got another zip section here: that's about yay big you can put in there like pens and pencils, calculators, other cool stuff and, let's check out to see sort of you know how much you can fit in one of these bags

The Topo Designs Rover Pack Backpack

 We have a ridge back back panel here, so the ridge back back panel has a nice foam padding in there, but it's also obviously ridge and that provides better airflow along the back panel trying to prevent that sweaty back that you often get when carrying heavy loads Or when carrying for a very long time for the shoulder straps, we have fairly straight cut shoulder straps. They do curve and taper closer to the end there, and it is padded underneath. So you can see this big air mesh wicking there that'll wick away any moisture and also prevent your back and your shoulders from getting sweaty and like on a lot of topo designs. Backpacks

 These are actually toppo designs, packed fast travel bag attachment loops. So if you're going traveling with this bag and with the topo designs travel bag, you can carry the travel bag and then you can attach on the rubber pack tech onto that bag. Just to streamline your carry it's a very small little system that toppo designs have implemented in their bags, just to streamline your carry and then also at the top of the bag. We have a very simple nylon: grab handle okay, so taking a look at the compartments of the bag, we've got a number of different compartments, zippered, compartments and pockets

 You could tie on a pair of climbing shoes if you just want them hanging on the outside of the bag. You can do a number of things with this little daisy chain strip here and then here we have a chunky, number 10 ykk coated zipper. You can see on the ends of the zipper path. We actually have these counter pulls here

 Now i haven't stored a laptop inside this compartment we'll get into why in a second. But if you do carry two laptops with you, perhaps it's your profession you're, a software engineer whatever it is. You can store your laptop in here, but the main reason why i haven't stored a laptop in there is because, with the rover pack tech, there is actually a dedicated laptop sleeve, that's accessible on the side. Great pack, Great features, A touch small

 I Guess you get a little bit of airflow going horizontally there and then there is a dedicated laptop compartment so that's primarily I Guess where the tech comes from, you can throw your tech right in here. There's a little bit more padding and love that just fluorescent interior here so you can see what's going on in the inside. No false bottom on the laptop compartment so it goes all the way to the bottom. I wish they had that, you know? I've definitely hasn't been testing this I have been using my laptop inside of a case and then inside of here just for that added protection

 You know on the ordinary Rover packs that have this, this is where you'd throw your laptop, but on the tech version, you know that dedicated space. So I like I like that option on this one and I chose to test this one. Our managing editor gave me an option to pick any one I wanted and I did choose the the tech version to test and I've thoroughly been enjoying it so let me have another pocket here at the top. kind of a little flap for keys

 They didn't do that here which is totally fine, but just a little bit of a note. you know, toggle kind of up here and at the top and the bottom a little kind of like nylon pull tabs if you want to attach things. Don't entirely understand the positioning here, so if you know exactly what that's for, let us know in the comments below the straps themselves. they're got some mesh on the backside, pretty padded, pretty comfortable, especially for a bag of this size

Topo Designs Rover Pack Tech Review (2 Weeks of Use)

 It's not so small that I can't fit anything I need, but isn't cumbersome to pack along. The buckles and materials are sturdy and work great; the material is stiff at first but now that I've used it a bit, it's starting to wear in (there's a cinch under the buckle flap and it took a few times to get that to cinch just a little faster than when it's brand new). I really like the smaller zipper pouches on the top of the flap and on the bottom of the front- it is perfect cell phone or snack sized. I can even put a water bottle or two in the side pockets! The only limitation I have for commuting sake is that my square lunch box doesn't fit in perfectly (if I had something that needed to be placed upright to prevent doing it wouldn't be able to do that), however, if I had more of an upright lunchbox, this wouldn't be a problem

Great All-Purpose Pack for Just About Anything

 Two water bottle pockets on the sides will carry your 32 oz bottles. Well paddled shoulder straps allow for all day comfort. I’m very happy with pack for day trips, commuting, and travel!

 Um, so we've got some mesh padded shoulder straps here which are really comfortable. This bag, you know it's um, you're not going to have too much kind of stuff in it weighing it down so there's some nice pad in there so it gives it a really nice comfortable carry even if you're wearing it for long periods of time. which is great. And these are also adjustable and really easily adjustable too

 You've basically got a huge bucket so you can organize the space as you like. At the back, here is a fifth. What says it holds up to most 15-inch laptops. This is a 15-inch laptop case and it was pretty tight to get in there

 A little loop gonna pull that down and there aren't any strap keepers, but you can add those on if that's that kind of thing you know annoys you. Um, And then there is no sternum strap or hip belt, but you do have the option, you know if you felt if you wanted to attach one, if you go and hiking and need it, and then of course you can attach one on and also these d-rings there if you wanted to. um, just some attachment points again, just if you wanted to. Like I said before I touch anything on and then you can also see on this pack you've got these loops here and these are the Um they call the pack fast So they're basically attachment loops which you can use to attach this pack to your travel bag should you want to do that

 We've got these woojin clips here which are nice and easy to use and these are also adjustable. So for example, let me just flip that back. Oh, this dual opening is I'll show you in that in a second. So you've got this top one and then you've got this cinch strap here which you can pull open to access inside

 I like that this pack can handle excess weight such as when you have excess food or water in the pack. If I got another pack I would definitely choose one that offers a similar feature.

**Overview**: This is long term review of the Zpacks Arc Blast. I got this pack as a Christmas gift in 2018. I've used it for hundreds of miles and at least a dozen trips. I was not involved in the customer service or ordering of the pack other than I asked for it for Christmas and was under the tree in time for Christmas

The pack has proven itself to be durable under bad bushwhacking conditions. I have scraped it pretty badly on trees and brush and only the outer polyester layer of fabric has [punctured or torn]([URL REMOVED] The inner layer of DCF is unscathed. Under general scratchy scraping through brush there is no damage whatsoever.

- ZPacks Arc Blast - Sort of unbeatable for the frame comfort at the weight. Genuinely waterproof. Pricey. I don't own one, but I've tried it on for half a day to feel it out

 In case you want to hear what "waterproof" really means; I'll tell you, it's this, not something that requires a rainfly - I've taken this pack through its paces on really demanding long trips, including one that required ~50 river crossings in about 3 days and I've left it outside my bivy overnight in drenching rainstorms. Never had wet gear. I think it holds weight well and undersells the interior space because you can extend the roll-top.

 Pricey. I don't own one, but I've tried it on for half a day to feel it out. Reminds me a bit of the airflow on my Exos frame. The DCF is thin, but if you're not putting serious thru-hiking miles on it, you probably won't have durability issues

I'm looking to replace my Teton 3400 pack with something more lightweight and/or comfortable. Right now I'm between the Mariposa 60 Backpack, 40-60L Sierra Designs Flux Capacitor, or Osprey Atmos 50 or 60 but I'm open for other considerations. Max capacity around 60L and max weight of 5 pounds (ideally around 3 pound mark). I'm looking for something with decent exterior pockets including hip pockets and easy access pockets/mounts for bear spray. I've been trying to minimize gear weight to make the weight of my camera gear more manageable but if a pack can make a load more comfortable then that would be okay too. This pack would be for multi-day trips through significant elevation changes. Water resistance out of the box would be favorable too. I'm also slightly below the average male height in the US for size considerations. If you have any experience with these packs or have another you'd recommend that would be great.
