Not sure how well it would fit you, but I adore my Teton Sports Oasis 1200 daypack. Maybe it's not as quality as Osprey or Gregory or Kelty, but its cheaper and works great for what I do. 

Hi! I have a hiking trip planned for Sedona with friends. We have a few day hikes planned. Could anyone recommend a good hiking pack suitable for women for this type trip? Thank you!

Daypack Recommendations

 So water bladder would go into the the laptop compartment as I called it earlier. Um, that's probably what it's mostly designed for. And from that compartment here, you fit in the your your drinking tube through this little exit. So through this exit it'll go down into this area here and it'll hold your straw in place

 I think the 18 liter had some issues zipping up. I don't think it could fit my phone in there, so that is a nice feature with the slightly bigger pocket that can fit my phone and we're moving down to the second largest compartment down here. This opens up nicely so I'm going to reach my hand down in there so it comes up beyond my wrist bone and we're gonna drop my S21 Ultra down here and it fits easily. And in addition to being able to use this backpack as a hiking backpack, I mainly use it to carry all my protective gear when I'm riding my onewheel

 and keep in mind I'm 5 feet 10 inches tall so this is feeling nice on my frame. I'm not overly big, I weigh about 160 pounds so it's just nice and relaxed. While it's resting on my back, it's hardly noticeable, which is something you want if you're going to be riding your electric vehicle for a long time or going on a hike. These wide shoulder straps kind of disperse the load very nicely so it's really comfortable on the back and again with the back support on the backpack

 We're going to start there and work our way up. So I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and I'm going to slide it sideways in the backpack and it fits quite easily. Would NOT buy again & I own ALLOT of backpacks

 So you know just because you got this Amazon or some yard sale or something doesn't necessarily change what the product has. So right off the bat I just want to talk about, um, I guess my general opinions of the bag. It's got a waist strap that comes around. The waist strap is not as comfortable as you know packs would be for backpacking or larger packs

 This is honestly my least favorite feature of this pack because I would love to tighten this up a little bit more. But and why does it have to be elastic? The elasticity makes it really weird, but it does have an emergency whistle [Music] You gotta blow it really hard for it to work, otherwise it just kind of shh. That's not gonna do you any good. Uh, these straps right here, um are a bit stiff

 It's got a lot of this vent up the spine and these also breathe really well. This whole pack breathes very well. Um, again, you know the small form factor helps with this and everything is very comfortable. Again, the straps are kind of rigid

 It's got this strip down the middle here and these mesh pads that sit on your back. your spine goes through, or these sit on your, uh, your muscles in your back. It's got a lot of this vent up the spine and these also breathe really well. This whole pack breathes very well

TETON Sports Oasis 1100 Review

 Why didn't they but an elastic mesh on the sides so things couldnt fall out. The had the elastic mesh side pockets, which I liked, so seems like a bit of a design flaw. Overall, it could be a great pack, with a few inexpensive tweaks. As is, there are cheaper options that are more practical, imo

 A velcro strap for the absent bladder. They really need an easier/quicker retention method to hold the bladder. 2. Cheaper packs come with an insulated bladder area, this one doesn't

It's ok, but...

This seemed like a really nice backpack and looked good when it arrived. Unfortunately it didn't fit me. I am on the small side (5'2" and 120lbs) so the stiff foam straps were too wide for my shoulders and restricted my arm movement.

 You can fit a 13” MacBook Air in the main compartment and one book or notebook. If you’re running to one or two classes and don’t need to lug your books, this backpack is great. Hydration bag is good and doesn’t leak, but as soon as you attach the hose, it’s as if you poked a hole in the bag. Not sure if mine is missing a gasket

  I purchased the green color (nylon has a honeycomb pattern to it) and am very happy with it. There appear to be 2 small reflective pieces towards the bottom of the bag and you might be able to clip something to them as they're about 2" in length and stitched onto the bag though I'd probably refrain from doing so. The zipper pulls are nice - they have a nice design and made of a hard rubber with a slight tactile feel. Though I haven't taken out on the trails, I'm very pleased with the initial quality, design, look, and price! I don't think you'd be disappointed

 Having said that, I am someone who values quality and price regardless if its sporting goods, clothing, furniture, food, etc so I feel I can provide a good review from that perspective.  Last week I went to the Adirondacks with friends and hiked for about 3 hours, they all had smaller backpacks and I liked the idea of having something smaller for shorter hikes than carrying my larger 36L backpack. I thought it would be nice to have a day pack that I could use for both hiking and for when I ride my bike. After reviewing about twenty 18L or smaller backpacks I settled on this TETON 1100 back

 The horizontal chest strap is a 2-way adjustable strap - not only to go around you chest (that's a no brainer) but can also be moved up or down about 8" on the grey strap to adjust where around your chest you want. It also has another adjustable strap at the bottom of the bag to go around your mid section.  I purchased the green color (nylon has a honeycomb pattern to it) and am very happy with it. 5" x 10" x 7", it has lots of storage compartments - from the back to the front of the bag there's the hydration pack zippered area (2L bladder included, no cleaning device), the larger zippered compartment, a smaller zippered compartment, an open area that can be adjusted using the pull straps, another zippered pocket (with 2 smaller compartments and a small clip for keys, etc), the bungy section on front, and 2 mesh side compartments (picture shows a 21oz camelback insulated squeeze bottle). A cool feature is the attached rain cover on the bottom front of the backpack in a velcro little pocket - it's attached to the bag so it won't be able to get dropped or blown away. Going back to the bungy part, I've never really know what the heck that's for, maybe to put wet stuff to dry? I saw on bicycle bags its used to store your helmet when you're not riding. Anyway, if you don't know a whole lot about how to use backpacks like me there's a couple ideas

Early thoughts are this is an awesome backpack!

 Not comfortable at all.  So I'm returning it. Amazon changed their return options, so now my "free" return requires driving 25 minutes to the nearest Amazon locker center. Ugh

 And the shoulder straps on this backpack are wide set. The straps themselves are pretty stiff, too, and the stiffest part of them (where the chest strap attaches) is right in my lower armpit/upper bicep area. Not comfortable at all.  So I'm returning it

 I've got the Oasis 1100 from Teton Sports We've got a pack for the day. I'm gonna show you how we packed it so on the front I've got my my energy snacks Clif bars and arks, bars and such things like that. If we undo that front pouch then we get full access to everything else. Now you don't have to undo that top part to get in here, but I've got my compass and some additional batteries pocket knife and this is the thing that is really different every time based on my use case

 It has enough capacity for a short or even a long day hike. I am a little worried about like how these zippers are gonna hold up. we'll see in the long run. but I definitely like the bag and I'm gonna continue using it as you've just seen it's I can put enough water and enough food, camera gear, and room for an extra layer and so it's gonna be great for all those types of Hayek's where that's just what I need

 Great padding on the shoulders, great waist belt padding. very comfortable and it runs 130 ish US dollars. but this exact model is no longer available so that price is based on their latest addition that I found on a quick Google search.  Let's say it was. and let's suppose that I had everything else on the pack for what I could do, let's just put that coat right in there. and now I've got a little bit of extra room in the backpack that I would not otherwise have had. We are at Ellis Island on the Mississippi River in Illinois and we're gonna go for a quick little day hike here

two bottles now these are not big water

ounces but they fit into little pouches

here I can easily put that in with one
hand there is a water bladder which I'm

not using right now but it is outfit to
support that and this little pouch in

the front I have GPS pocket knife spare
batteries

now we've got another pouch here which I
really don't have that much in here

right now all I have is a camera gimbal
but there's enough room in here for

the last component is this front little
strap here so this folds forward you
