This is exactly why I don’t use cloud storage; I have a Synology NAS in house with drive redundancy and delayed file deletion that also backs up nightly to a second device. I have full control over my data, very little chance of ever losing something without a perfect storm of a freak accident. Easily one of the best investments I’ve made.

Fast forward two weeks, when I came home today, I found that my NAS was off and it would not turn on. I tried to make sure that the cable is fully plugged in, and tried different outlets, but it's still not working - I have a feeling either the cable is faulty, or the loose fit with the socket damaged something in the NAS. I don't know if this fits power sockets on other NAS well, but beware that the cable DOES NOT FIT the Synology DS218J like they advertised!! 1 star for working for two weeks.

I mean the compatible list devices in Synology web site. I bought it but DS220+ can not see the HDD and had noise when it is attached.
