 . . the spring for the blade advance setting lock is very weak so it is hard to tell were the notches are. It takes a knack and practice to even find one consistently and it is not quick

 * It rattles a lot * Three blade settings with a slight extension on the forth but that is to remove the blade using the side blade release button.  The "Pro-Grade" * It is a very substantial box knife * It is "defend your castle from invaders" substantial (if it is a small castle and there are only half a dozen invaders ). * As you can see from the photo it is way larger. If you are wearing gloves and can't hang onto a smaller box knife the Pro is made with you in mind

Hard to improve on this

 so if you don't like fiddling with the knife, this is probably not the knife for you. But every time you want to access that blade storage while I've got it open here guys, you're gonna have to unscrew this knife and you're gonna have to reset your retractable button and make sure it's all lined up. But once it is, go ahead and put your screw back in, get your knife closed up, and then you've got your retractable knife and you've got a few different positions as you retract the knife up and down that you can lock into. If you want to get up to that top position, just hold the the button down, slide it up and back, and if you've got extra blades in there, you're gonna be able to hear them in this knife

 so I would opt for that position. But once you've got your knife positioned properly, pop the cover back on and then get the knife screwed shut. and once you've got your, you're screwing there tightly. This is your knife guys

 and let's go ahead and get this knife open. see if we got the screw out far enough. We'll get the packaging off the Stanley Classic 99 retractable knife. Get that open, Get the packaging off

The Gransfors Small Splitting Axe can be used for medium-sized firewood. It is forged and ground to a concave, quite thin blade at the bit. The axe cuts quickly and easily into the wood and then effectively splits it as the broader section pushes apart the wood. The handle has a protective steel collar below the axe head and circular grooves towards the end for an extra firm grip. Splitting Axes should not be used for striking a wedge or as a wedge. Only the Splitting Maul is designed for this. The axe is delivered with a sheath.

 I like a knife like this, because I don't need something crazy, heavy and tactical and super duty that I can pound through. You know a four inch log or something I'm gon na use that an ax or a hatchet, or a saw for that. I, like a lighter use easier to maneuver knife that that serves as a second tool in my arsenal or third, you know whatever the case may be, and I think in that role. This is great

 You'Re, not gon na show this one off on Instagram, but it'll get a lot of work done in the outdoors and for my purposes and I've said this over and over again you know I don't I don't do a lot of, but awning with my knife. I don't do a lot of chopping, I prefer to bring a hatchet, and so in my particular you know, philosophy or my particular comfort level. I like a knife like this, because I don't need something crazy, heavy and tactical and super duty that I can pound through.  I can take a grinder to it if it really bugged me but it doesn't.  Leather Sheath: I dont have the issues some others have voice where it comes out even when the button is clasped. It's soft and will age well after continue care and applying leather conditioner oil.  Axe handle: I was a bit confused at first with the circular grooves but after reading the description on the Gransfor Bruk site it makes sense

My first Gransfor Bruks Axe

 The handle seems very strong, tightly grained hickory with excellent orientation.  I find working with it to be pure joy. I'll grant that it is expensive, but in this case I think you get what you pay for. I would buy it again in a heartbeat

Great Little Axe

 I use this ax nearly every single day. It’s an ideal size for having near a wood stove or furnace. I have mine in a small corridor next to my wood stove that’s used to hold wood pre-burn. The ceiling is low (about 6’4”) due to ductwork

 If you’re looking for something that you can handle and will occasionally split small amounts of timber you’ll want this. Worth every penny.

A perfect Ax

 The strap is too long and causes the sheath to come loose when hiking or any kind of movement is involved. I contacted both Kenco and Gransfors in order to remedy this situation but have not heard from them in over 9 days. This is truly unfortunate because, though my experience with Gransfors has been positive thus far, I'm left wondering if this was a vendor issue or if it was manufactured incorrectly. Regardless, the premium price that Gransfors Bruk charges for their axes leaves one hoping that a quality issue such as this would not be overlooked

 I purchased this particular axe through Kenco The Work and Play Outfitter on Amazon. The axe I received had a sheath which was fitted very poorly. The strap is too long and causes the sheath to come loose when hiking or any kind of movement is involved.
