For context, my local ski shop is doing an end-of-summer blowout sale on a buttload of gear, I could either get the Smith Maze for $90 or the Smith Scout for $50. He had other helmets as well, but most of them were either too big (I wear a small) or were at higher price points that were still a bit absurd to me even with the sale going on.  But if the vents were quieter, then I'd probably be complaining that the helmet was too hot. Worth the price? I guess so. Skiing is expensive.
