Now the knife. I bought this for self defense, if ever needed it'll do the job intended. It doesn't come very sharp and in my opinion doesn't sharpen very well. Handle feels nice in the hand for intended purpose

Fist off it was cheap, need I say more. I have many high end skinning knives, but due to a friend who has an older one and he claimed it worked so well I thought I would try one. It reminds me more of my kitchen knives concerning the blade feel. But really the worst part is the sheath

The blade is dull so get yourself a good sharpening stone to hone the blade. For the price, it's a good knife but the sheath is still very important.

This knife fulfills those requirements. It is compact, but formidable for its designed purpose, and the quality seems solid. Now- here's the rub: It comes with a decent cowhide sheath, that has a keeper strap of the same leather, secured a metal snap. It closely mimics the original Made in USA design

Had this Knife almost (1) year. Have not used it for any outdoor/ bush/ camping activities yet so can't rate on that. Just been sitting in my Diving Backpack and considering to use it in my Diving activities but don't know if the steel will hold up (won't rust). At 1st glance, the knife feels like it's a Young Boy's knife (still feel that way)

The metal is a 7Cr17 High Carbon Stainless Steel which the previous version I could just find High Carbon Stainless Stell for the information. Time will tell on how it holds the edge. Hopefully it will turn out to be an excellent skinning knife but I always question the quality when the manufacturer doesn't take the pride of putting a decent edge on it to start with.

My first moment of opening this its sturdy so far. This item got delivered before the recommended Delivery Date.

Four stars for the knife sheath. It is leather, but the knife catches on the inside when removing it.

I love the sheath. The retention is perfect. The knife stays firmly in place and it's quick and easy to deploy. Doesn't feel stuck like some Schrades do with similar sheaths

Cons: The handle is proportional to the blade but may feel small for larger hands, however, three of my friends with larger hands have used it without noticeable issues.

always a plus. The handle is the most comfortable design ive ever held, even though it could be longer by a half an inch. (I have large hands) The rubberized handle is very grippy, and a joy to work with. At 30 bucks its a true bargain ! SOG ! if youre listening, please take this exact design and enlarge it to a 5 and a half or 6 inch blade, with the handle expanded to 5 or 5 and a half inches
